Non-televised academy matches

Friday’s u21s confirmed as on MUTV.
No mention of Saturday u18s. Possibly still to be rescheduled considering FAYC on Monday.

Sunderland game has indeed been rescheduled. It's now our final league game of the season on Saturday 10th May.

U13s finished 3rd at a 5-aside tournament today, featuring Burnley, Forest, City, Liverpool, Blackburn, Fleetwood & Crewe. They ended with a record of 6 wins & 1 loss. A second United squad finished 10th as well (5W 3L).

Good showing considering half of the squad is in Spain.

The U21s face Nott’m Forest tomorrow at LSV. Not on MUTV due to a clash with a PL match.

Kone and Obi are my ones to watch - it'll be interesting to see if they have their minutes managed to have them available for the bench against Lyon.

3-1. Chido again

“Turned the defender on the halfway line, used his strength to run to the edge of the box, shift onto his right foot then fire in. Very good finish” - @NathSalt1

As always, can't defend. Plenty of the U21 players won't be here next season. I actually think all of the U21 defenders will leave: Nolan, Fredricson, Ogunneye, Murray, Bennett, Aljofree, Kingdon and Jackson.

Was Aljofree not fairly well rated at one point? Has he just not developed?

He has been an OK center back at Academy level, and I have watched him regularly since he was 16. You should take everything about being rated as a youngster with a pinch of salt. Pretty much every player at United is "rated" by fans. He can't get into a bottom-half team in League Two so not looking good. Hopefully, he'll get a career in league football anyway.

Wasn't he captain though? I know there's been some bang average players with leadership qualities in our academy over the years but it does make you think someone must see something in him.

that is a really weak group of defenders.

Absolute howler by Fredricson at the end. Casually lobbed the ball to a Forest striker for him to slot past Harrison to make it 3-3.

United had the bulk of the play, but too much sideways and backwards passing, and not enough attacking. Forest much more direct when they had the ball. Poor to let a 3-1 lead slip in the last 10 minutes.

Good to see Obi and Mantato involved in goals.

Sounds like a nice way to vend your frustration of throwing away the win.

Of course plenty of U21s players won't be here next season. As always.

Can’t find the U18s’ away match at Nott’m Forest on Saturday on the MUTV schedule.

U15s beat Derby 5-3 in the Floodlit Cup North semi-final.

They will now face City in the final with the winner going on to face the Southern winner, Southampton or Chelsea.

Nice to see our two new signing making an instant impact.

Seen some criticism here too.

AZ have an insanely good youth academy. They have top notch data analysis even for the academy that the coaches use.

Impressive from AZ, wonder if they'll be able to make some strides at first team level soon or if they'll just get poached by bigger fish.
