Murray

Koné
Gore (C)

Sharpe
Moorhouse
Mather

Subs: Wooster, Jackson, McAllister, Curley, Missin

They would still clash with the 15:00 PL kickoffs.
Oh, I thought it was about televised PL games (in the UK). Is it just when any PL matches are taking place at all that the U21's can't be televised?

EDIT: Good to see Kone back from injury. Him and Gore looks an interesting CM partnership for this level.

With the U21's being at home, and the U18's playing yesterday, I was hoping there'd have been a chance this one was on MUTV.

Bad luck (for us, MUTV probably delighted at the excuse) that there's a televised PL game 12.30-14.30. But given that silly rule, you'd think the afternoon PL2 games would start at 14.30-15.00 - then they could be televised, couldn't they?

But, as I say, as MUTV have clearly decided the U21 coverage is the one going to be most cut back, then they're probably delighted at the clash.

Any news on the line ups?
Harrison, Ogunneye Fredricson Kukonki Murray, Gore Kone, Sharpe Moorhouse Mather, Wheatley
Subs Wooster Curley McAllister Jackson Missin.

Guess this has more to do with the 15:00 blackout actually.
Yeah, that's probably it.

Though I'm getting quite confused with how that all works now - as can't people watch some EFL games at 3pm on TV nowadays? And I'm sure I've seen women's PL matches being shown on Saturday afternoon at some stage? Not sure why it should still apply to PL2 matches on a teams subscription channel, but there you go.

Thanks. :+1:

I like the midfield CM of Gore and Kone. And it would have been nice to see Harrison again after his impressive loan spell away.

Not sure if they are. But yeah the rule is that you can’t televise Premier League competition games, which PL2 is. Then again so is U18 PL but they are regularly shown during 12:30 kickoffs.

Another win, three on the bounce in the league. It’s been a decent season so far for the U21s.

Flashscores has Kone playing in the middle of a 3 mam defence. Wonder if thats true

Looks like the Nordsjælland game on Tuesday is again not shown on MUTV.

Edit: Luckily FC Nordsjælland will stream it on their YouTube, I think.

The U16s beat Man City 2-1. A goal for Kai Rooney, comeback for JJ Gabriel.

This was actually a U15 Floodlit Cup game, the final one of the initial group stage. They're normally played midweek in the evening (hence the name) but this was a rescheduled fixture so I guess they just decided to play it whenever.

The win sees us top the group ahead of City. We now go into a second group stage where we'll face Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday & Stoke

1-1 draw against Stoke tonight. GK Jonathan Gordon, who was released by United in the summer, saved a pen for Stoke.

Looks like we don't even get to see all the U18s' games anymore. Saturday's match at Wolves is not on the MUTV schedule. No mention of it in the latest Academy Briefing either.

Confirmed in the latest briefing that it won’t be televised.

Conveniently doesn’t give a reason as they don’t have a valid one other than not being bothered.

Yep, noticed that too. Won’t even bother to ask anymore, as the answers (excuses) are always the same.

The U21s’ visit to Brighton on Sunday naturally not televised either. 16:00 kickoff.

United's U13s are into the Northern Final of the Premier League Cup where they will face Newcastle or Villa.

They played Everton (2-2), Sunderland (6-0) and Wigan (8-0) in the groups, before beating Leicester (5-3) in the quarters and Sheffield United (2-1) in the semis.

Think it's actually good that Man City have gone past us, so that we face some pressure going into these matches. That being said we should win this. Wolves have a decent defensive record, but they're struggling at the other end of the pitch.

Considering they'd won the Northern section for about 5 years running, and still only finished second last year when we won it for the first time in a while, then I can't say I'm already so bored / complacent of success at that level that I'm pleased to see them up challenging with us again and currently overtaking us.

I'd be much happier to see them struggling and suggesting they aren't producing the latest group of talents that they can flog for good sums to help with PSR.

Very frustrating that there's no U18 and (as usual) U21 games on MUTV this weekend. As has been said, absolutely no outside factor excuse for the U18 decision, purely and simple a club decision based on cost cutting. And while that was a necessary thing to do in some areas - where there was unnecessary waste of funds - showing the competitive matches that the Football club participant in should never be considered part of the unnecessary waste (although many of our first team performances could be described in similar terms!)

No of course I’d rathem them losing every game but as they haven’t, I’m trying to look for positives. Challenges and pressure speeds up the individual and collective development.
