Non-televised academy matches

Wish the club made more of an effort in marketing these games. The youth deserve bigger crowds.

Come on lads, let's turn this around

Judging by the updates and stats we’ve been the second best team in this tie. Doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll get knocked out but it’s not looking good.

20 minutes remaining. United need a goal to take this to extra time and two to go through.

Biancheri coming on to replace Wheatley, Chido on for Kamason. Last roll of the dice stuff.

We tend to leave the striker subs surprisingly late by the way.

Another disappointing UYL campaign comes to and end.

The crowd is shockingly small. Lucky to be a thousand there I'd say. Been to u21s matches at Old Trafford before and the entire stand was usually packed with 6-7K, not to mention some of the massive crowds for FAYC. Sadly these games are a complete afterthought now.

Another classic UYL campaign from United then, mismatch of the U18s and U21s with very little fluidity. The coaching and team selection in this competition has never looked right.

Went tonight, really impressed with Devaney and Amass to be fair. Both looked a class above on the field but the virus of lack of chances runs through the club. Wheatley a lad who's played first team football did nothing at all.

As for the new striker Chibo Obi, I watched him for 10 to 15 minutes do zero warm up work on the touchline. No shuttles, no stretches, nothing. Clearly none of the coaching staff were doing the same as he wouldn't have seen the field if they had. Piss poor attitude in my opinion and just looked really unprofessional.

They were one of the best - but that generation is in the first team squad. Their results at youth level this season have been poor - but it's hard to know how if they picked a strong team in the league matches.
4 days ago they won the u19 Dutch championship. Not bad for a team that is performing "poor".

Perhaps we aren't as good as we thought we were. I kind of suggested this when I noticed that we don't have too many starters in the national teams at various age levels

Well I was referring to their U18 side who finished last season with 2 points from the last 4 games - their U19s clearly are better - I stand corrected

What am I missing? Their U18s side won the Eredivisie title last season, beating Ajax in the final. Best team in the country. That’s why they are in this competition.

Yes their form suffered for four matches, not sure why that is the significant factor in deciding whether a team is good or not. I could also point out their league form early on.

Beating PSV, Feyenoord as well as Ajax twice in that run.

A young U18s side beat Burnley 3-1 today behind closed doors.

A goal and an assist for Louie Bradbury, trialist Nimfasha Berchimas also scored.

Looks a decent player from the links I found online - strikes the ball really well with both feet
