No Country for Old Men

What Peter said. Good film, and worth a watch, though. I enjoyed Burn After Reading more.

Overrated, but with some of the shit people said, you thought you were going to see the Godfather

The way it was filmed was very much like A History of Violence. I liked the straight forwardness of it. Overrated, but still a very good movie.

I thought it was very, very boring. Loads of s-l-o-w talking and quiet moments.

Some people like those kind of 'clever' films but I like a bit of ACTION in a movie.

Die Hard was better?

Top film, masterfully shot, wonderfully acted and an innovative storyline in there was no romantic death for Llewellyn, you don't even see him die, and it isn't even by person you are led to believe will murder him.
BTW, the 'mystery' of whether the wife is killed at the end or not, she obviously is as he checks his feet walking out the house......

Did you even watch the film? There was plenty of ACTION.

Wasn't overly 'clever' either.

Nice spoiler, skippy.

A History of Violence was shit. No Country For Old Men was top drawer. Really gripping.

History of Violence was good, bit daft as obviously was him but still good.

Er...spoiler alert?

You've obvioulsy seen it, whats the problem?

Die Hard is better than most things.

I agree other than the 4th, the 2nd one was a cut down from 1 and Vengeance but my uncle made a cameo as an extra thus it was good enough for me. What city was 2 filmed in?

No idea.

How about you make a Die Hard thread, Alex, we can discuss these highly important issues? You see a lot of people didn't like the 4th but I didn't think it was that bad.

Washington DC (Dulles Airport)

I don't get why Die Hard is compared with NCFOM, they're quite different genres. Not to mention that NCFOM is actually quite good.

Washington DC doesnt stand for Washington Denver City

...ummm I asked what city it was filmed in not what city it took place in

Because Mrs Giggs should know as she is a raving Die Hard fan

Die Hard is way better!

Not really, but it's a taste thing or so the people will say anyway. Still, Die Hard are good action movies, but they'll never be more that that. There's no realism there for starters.

NCFOM is more of a retro thriller, but to me obviously artistically superior. Dialogue, frames, ambience, you name it, everything is better than Die Hard will ever be. Die Hard is made to sell and it does that well as they're normally a bit entertaining. Quality is about more than popularity though.

I really wanted to like it but i was underwhelmed to the point that when the missus fell asleep half way through i turned it off and I have never finished watching it.
