Offensive? Really? You need to watch this:
As for the Nigeria kit, I really like it.
This joke is shite, derogatory and unfair to millions of hardworking Nigerians around the world. Is not even funny and frankly zin my opinion it is offensive.
Well, perhaps because am Nigerian.Boo hoo. I don't see any Nigerians who asked you to get offended on their behalf.

A bunch of white boy hooray Henry's will be wearing it, it's a given.

Are you really offended or is this just an E-mal scam?
Don't know how it's offending. It is a joke that is going around.
It would be same if it mentioned Prince of Spain, or Dutch princess (yeah, @KirkDuyt am looking at you)
Calm down, people. How is it racist to try (and fail) to pull off a joke about Nigerian e-mail scams? I'm sure he meant no harm at all, and tbh I don't see how it's even racist.

Do you know how the joke originates? Maybe then you will know why some may find it offensive

Seriously mods sort it out. If people from Nigeria are telling you they find it offensive, how about take the hint! Go and do your research and find out where the joke originates from.
So most people from Nigeria really feel stigmatized by jokes about e-mail scams? If so, I'm sorry about my insensitivity towards the issue. But really, how is one expected to know this is to be considered a sensitive issue? Again, sorry for going along with the joke. Didn't mean to hurt anyones feelings.
Also, the kit is awesome.
If it doesn't originate from e-mail scams from a supposed Nigerian prince, would you care to explain its origin?
I would be fuming. All hail our great royal house.Don't know how it's offending. It is a joke that is going around.

The use of Nigerian prince in the email scams by quite a lot of the time non Nigerian plays on the generalisation and stereotype of Nigerians being scammers and corrupt.
Its not hard to see why a Nigerian would find it offensive ffs

Really though, the Nigerian Prince mail is legendary. That’s what it’s a reference to, I don’t think it’s racist. If anything it’s, er, scammerist.
I will not be baited into a responseNothing but love for them, eh?
Edit: thought the kit is great btw

... but that doesn't explain how the joke originated, which you claim to be the reason you find it offensive? Does it originate from anything else than the emails, letters, etc? Again, I agree that if you and other Nigerians truly find it that offensive, it should stop. I'm just trying to understand the world I live in.
Also, I really don't think the poster meant to stigmatize 200 million people, and trying to portray him as a racist because of a bad joke is not exactly kind either. As you can clearly see, many people on here didn't, and still don't, understand it was a sensitive issue for Nigerian people.
I never mentioned anything being racist, I said I found it offensive, I have explained why, I am now done with the conversation.

The scam is actually very old and the Nigerian Prince version is only one of many. Others include e-mails from supposed petrol companies, mysterious investors etc. The important aspect of the identity of the 'scammer' is that it is an unknown person. The Nigerian Prince e-mails first arose during the 1980s, whether the Nigerian nationality might have been chosen because of a stereotype about Nigeria might well be true, but that's not really a fact. More probable is the fact that the Nigerian Royal house (no idea if they have one, case in point) are unknown to people in the Western world. This makes it more likely that victims fall for it. I think sending e-mails pretending to be Prince Charles for instance will make success highly unlikely.... but that doesn't explain how the joke originated, which you claim to be the reason you find it offensive? There's a Nigerian guy that was running a company of 50+ people, entirely based around scamming people. They got $11m in one hit at one point. I think the joke is probably fair game and shouldn't be offensive. Most nationalities have a sort of offensive but not really unless you want it to be thing going on. It is a tired and boring joke though.
In all seriousness, don't you find all these ridiculous semantical arguments you always seem to find yourself in exhausting? I mean there are easier ways to announce yourself as a massive bellend and none of them involve typing out walls of pointless, circular rubbish.... but that doesn't explain how the joke originated, which you claim to be the reason you find it offensive? Plenty of people of differently nationalities have run far worst scams and their nationality isn't synonymous with scam. If you knew/experienced the stigma that comes with being Nigerian because of "jokes" like these then you would get what I was talking about.
You do realise it can be both, right?Maybe, yeah. I would imagine it's more jokes than people actually stigmatising, but I'm sure there are some idiots that do. It's about time the joke died anyway.

Nice kit though.

Anyway back to the kit!
