Nigeria kit sells out in three hours

Nigeria’s football under Westerhoff/Jo was more pleasing to the eye for sure but Ghana in 2010 would’ve made history were it not for the scouse Uruguaian Luis Suarez

Why Suarezs fault? Ghana should score the penalty

I received an email from the Nigerian prince telling me that he'll give me 1m if I buy 6 Nigerian national team shirts

But no one will see him or them do it!!

Thats exactly how Iwoebe will score 57goals in the group stage. Was that a ship or someone pretending to looking like one -- oophs. The ball just went past me. How the feck did that happen. Ships cant kick. Fecking russian technology.

I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t like that kit.

The reason it sold out so quickly is because Nike did their job for a change rather than using the same standard template for every team.

Wish England would be a bit more adventurous. White kit every year, change between a collar and V-neck every 2 years, claim it’s a new kit. Don’t know how Nike get away with it.

I think the design is ugly.

I appreciate the fact that it's different but I wouldn't buy or wear that.

Its a throw back to old 94 kit which is why Nigerians “get it”.

Also its actually a nice design, but it depends on your taste. Nigerian wear usually has quite flamboyant patterns so it makes sense for the kit to.

They should have gone further. They acquitted themselves with a gold medal at the Olympics in '96 though.

I want a kit. I'm not lining up or waiting online to get one.

We had the Nigerian Olympic team train at our soccer complex just north of Tallahassee before the Atlanta games. I was helping run the complex during my last year of college. Got to hang out with the players outside of their training, had Kanu and Babangida at my house a couple of nights before heading to a club where I spun. Fun group of guys, got to play in a couple of full matches against them in the last couple of days of their time with us. Only disappointing thing about them winning the gold was the complete lack of soccer coverage on the television save for the final.

I got my Nigeria shirt nearly 3 months ago because I’m a very important person so avoided the mayhem yesterday :)

Anyway, see you at Wembley later!

It was heavily promoted by Skepta, Naiomi Campbell, Iwobi, Wizkid and other artists and notable people.
It's more than a kit at the moment, it's more of a cultural statement.

Nigerians have a lot of pride so this is not surprising. This kit really captures that Nigerian spirit. I've had many Nigerian friends and they're easily the most easy going and fun people I've met.
Going to get the home kit with Oga 1 on the back.

I don't even think it's anything like the 94 away kit tbh

I like the away kit better, more simple and remind me of the old days with Okocha and West. But the home kit will look mint on some young people, like the guys in the ad picture

Think Nike were smart releasing it on the eve of the game. Everyone wanted one to wear before the match, hence the mad rush.

Can't quite work out if it's a nice kit or not tbh. I mean, it's alright i guess...

Was seeing a lot about how expensive the kit is in Nigeria. Kind of a shame to see that when as a pop style it's being bought up like crazy in the UK and US by many a non Nigerian

I think wearing other nation jersey is not insulting. Infact it has its own pride that many fancy your national team.

England used to be the dog's bollock here... until its replaced by german and italian.

Italian always has some elder mid age uncles supporting them while german is hip with the youngster.

Not fancy it, just seems too flashy and ugly, dont get why people like it but to each their own i guess.

Oh yeah I agree with that! I was just feeling badly that more Nigerians were finding it so expensive. Tbf I wonder how much they care - the knockoffs usually are decent.
