are u thinking you are writing on a birmingham forum?
We should sign Torres aswell while we're at it.. oh and Fabregas...
My mate's a Chelsea reserve and thinks Bendtner's the hardest opponent he's ever faced.
Massive.
Massive.
He's feckin shite.
AgreedHe's a good prospect. Maybe he will mature into a good player.
I agree. He'd suit us down to the ground.
From what I saw of him at Birmingham I beg to differ slightly. He scored like a natural for them. It's very true he is about awareness and touch, but he seems the same type of player Ruud was for us win 2003. Though not with the same goal getting ratio ATM. But the potential is there. He is excellent at link up play, has a brilliant first touch and an eye for goal. With more pace than Ruud ever had. With experience IMO his goal scoring ratio can reach Ruud levels. I will be shocked if Wenger ever let such a gem go.
Classic chief. Talk about every player that shows a bit of promise at some point as being potential United quality, compare him to a top player he's nothing like and make yourself out to be an expert on some kid you've seen play just a couple of times. Rinse and repeat.
Ha, ha, to be fair Bendtner was a very promising centreforward if nothing like RvN. He just didn't want it enough (possibly difficult to be hungry if you're earning £2.5M a year and banging a princess).

Classic Brwned. I bet you never watched Bendtner's successful spell at Birmingham, that is why you think it clever to make such a post. Hind sight can make even a fool look very clever after all, when it comes to young players and their potential.

Is how Steve Clarridge accessed him at the time
I did actually. Saw bits and pieces of his time there and a couple of games. Thought he showed plenty of promise for sure and I still think he'll end up a very decent player. Nothing like Ruud though. The point wasn't that your were hyping up a player that didn't/doesn't have any talent, it's that you were making yet another wildly inappropriate comparison and likely based the majority of your expert knowledge on a couple of online articles in some strange attempt to present yourself as Redcafe's chief global youth scout or something. Although I suspect very few people echoed your suggestions of him being able to reach van Nistelrooy level goalscoring records. That was just the cherry on top. A bit like when you predicted Campbell to "reach Drogba/Eto'o" levels by the time he's 23. Gotta push the boat out eh.Classic Brwned. Bravery 8/10

Control 8/10
Team play 8/10
Is how Steve Clarridge accessed him at the time, whilst accessing his potential. Which is the exact same thing I did at the time. The same attributes anyone who watched Ruud at United in 2003 would say the Dutch man consistently had.
Nistelroy?
Bendtner is more Vieri than Nistelroy. A VERY poor man's Vieri, mind you. But as type of player goes...
It's statements like that show just how immature people like you actually are. I have NEVER been an expert on football. I'm not a trained coach. I haven't played professional football either. All I am is a footballer lover who has spent a large portion of my personal time during my life either playing or watching football. At most I'm just an informed fan. Nothing more, nothing less. A person willing to talk about football and be vocal about my opinions on it. The problem with creatures like you though is you conflate opinion with expert-ism. Which is dumb in the extreme. On top of the fact you think its a crime for people to share their opinions, and imagine people should be afraid about ever being proved wrong about an opinion they ever gave....The point wasn't that your were hyping up a player that didn't/doesn't have any talent, it's that you were making yet another wildly inappropriate comparison and likely based the majority of your expert knowledge on a couple of online articles in some strange attempt to present yourself as Redcafe's chief global youth scout or something.
Typical. In your continous attempt to appear so clever you can't even remember what I actually said about Campbell.A bit like when you predicted Campbell to "reach Drogba/Eto'o" levels by the time he's 23. Gotta push the boat out eh.
Red Indian Chief Torn Rubber said:''I've little doubt Campbell, barring injuries and given proper playing time and can go on to be a Drogba or an E'too in a year or 2.
Of course you would. After all the Clarrige assesment of his skill set made you look rather foolish. Since it could very well be used to describe the consistency Ruud showed for United in 2003. So much for your '' wildly inappropriate comparison'' theory..I think you left out the most important part of that "assessment" by the way...
Lacking in relevance. It would have been a valid thing to point out If I ever placed an actual figure to the value of Bendtner's talent. Or if I hadn't strictly spoken of his potential in terms of my opinion."Value More than £1m"
In case you NEVER noticed. He gave an assessment of the players skill set that could easily be used to describe the pro Ruud was in 2003. He didn't need to say the lad was the next (insert name) because that was never the point of his article. Not exactly saying he was the next superstar. Just someone who stood out as a very talented player at that level.
