sat in the stretty tonight made me fecking cringe

the abuse giggs took from his own fans was a fecking discrace, granted hes going through a bad patch but this is really gonna help him

looks like the scapegoat has moved from veron to giggs

fecking joke

They said on MUTV that the fans appaluded when Giggs came off the pitch, which is a real shame. If he's lost confidence, that's hardly going to help his confidence. My big worry is that he's lost some of his pace and that that's the cause of his poor performances.

So, the fans that jeered him from the Stretty, would you class them as real fans or glory hunters?

I'd class them as right cnuts! The lad is going through a bad patch, and he needs their support, backing, and encouragement, not mindless jeering.

Bastards,
so he had a bad game and is generally having a poor season.

If the kunts cheered when he scored against Juve in 1999 they should chher him now.

I fuchin hate sunshine supporters

I think in fairness the clapping was for Ole coming on, not Giggs going off.

Players coming on always get applause - so why has it never been said before that the outgoing player was being jeered? There must have been vocal comment as well.

Doesn't matter where you sit, you don't boo your own. Especially someone of Giggsy's stature.

Giggs:"I think the thing Roy Keane picked up on is that the real fans are the ones that follow us away. I never get stick off the fans who go to games week in week out.

"Perhaps my biggest critics are the Old Trafford season ticket-holders because maybe I've not been producing my best form at home."

Speaking to The Mirror, he added: "I'm quite happy that I'm producing my best form away - and that's a lot harder to do.

"The fans pay their money and expect something special every time I touch the ball, but that isn't always possible."

I used to rate Giggs a lot.

He nowhere near that same player now though.

Whats up with him?

This is shameful.....I can't believe some people. I never thought I'd see anything like this. It's a very sad day as far as I'm conerned. Very sad.

What's up with him is that unlike other players who suffer loss of form, Giggs gets maybe one game out, or left on the bench. He doesn't get left out for 8 games like Beckham, or sent to the reserves.

He's treated differently. He has no added incentive or motivation to raise his game. It's the same as happened to Yorke - three years ago, he went three months without scoring a goal, but wasn't dropped. He developed the idea that he was indispensable, and look what happened to him.

I don't think Giggs is like Yorke - but the fact is, there is no competition for his place. Players play better when they have to fight for their place. That's human nature. I'm sure Gigg is doing the best he can at the moment, but the jolt of losing his place could inspire something in him that he might not be able to conjure up otherwise.

I believe what he said about saving his best performances for away games is true. How would you explain that?

Perhaps a real threat to his position is what we need to see the best of Giggsy again (I am confident we will, form is temporary - class is permanent)

It is indeed a sad day when someone like Ryan is booed by his own so-called supporters. It should be a given that we can debate, even criticise, the players, the manager and whoever else we please in discussion and in a forum such as this but when that team steps out onto the pitch and, we support it 100%. I'm not sure what this latest development is going to do to Ryan's confidence but he knows the best way to answer it and that is on the pitch. You can do it, so go for it Ryan !

I have watched a lot of your games over the last year or so, and Giggs just doesn't seem to cut it anymore.

Runs down blind alleys, looks for the wrong ball far too often, and his final ball is terrible, as well as for me he doesn't score enough goals considering the role he plays, far too often looks scared to shoot, or tries to take that extra man on.

What I don't understand is how from some sections of your support that he seems above any criticism, even the best players aren't perfect, and everyone needs a kick now and again....

It's hard to criticise someone of Giggsy's stature, when you consider all he's done for our club at a relatively young age.

Even though without the fans he wouldn't be there?

Ok then, if the fans do it then who does? if he continues the surely the staff should foot the blame?

There's a difference between criticism and booing..... supporters are meant to 'support' their players at matches, support doesn't mean to boo or even criticise one of your players during 90mins......

Thats unless the meaning of 'suppport' has changed...

(i hate our glory support )

True, but criticism has it's place in the pub or on here, not from the stands during games...

Fergie won't drop him now as a two fingered jesture to all those twats that booed Giggs. I'm sure he'll have a word in Giggsy's ear and use last nights incident to motivate him.

He hasn't got him up for it for nearly a year though has he?

But people pay their money and make their choice,

Mayeb they supported him for ages, and now they have had enough because he hasn't changed?

there is faith, and blind faith.

nate shut up.

Look up the meaning for support, then comeback to me.

Maybe you're a glory hunter n'all.... hence your mentality. I bet you'd fit in with the those fans at unfilled who boo liverpool off from time to time.

The word here is "Support", and booing is not supportive in any way. When they are on that feild you cheer them, punto.

It's like the cnuts who were always at Verón's throat during the game, what the feck is it supposed to achieve?

I'm not saying I agree with 'em Giggzy, just trying to point out that not all think the same as you.

I have never and wouldn't ever boo my team.

It won't help anything.

What will help though?

A bit of support. It's the manager's job to give them stick.

Right, but hes got the support, a minority booed him.

So it Fergies fault then?

Like I said, you don't boo your own.

so whats your point in this thread?

its not ok to boo? or it is ok, aslong as it united fans?

BTW, those fans who think different aren't fans/supporters.. its times like this iam ashamed of our fans.... OT has too many muppets.

Booing your own player during a game, or even when he leaves the pitch is mindless and destructive.

Giggs has been a loyal United player for 12 years - he knows he's not performing well. I'm sure he can take constructive comment, but how can demoralising him and undermining any confidence he might have, help.

SAF is responsible for the training, the team selection, and the motivation, so the ultimate responsibility lies with him.
