NHL season 2005-2006

Please guys don't count the ducks till the broom's been laid. The Sharks went 2-0 up on the Oilers and we won 4 straight. Till the fat lady sings on this series then they are still in it.
 
lets go oilers,get this thing done,no stupid penaltys,no injuries and NO OT.
if our defensive lines and rollie can keep up their so far brilliant work we could get the sweep,[if i'm not wrong that would be the 1st in this years playoffs?????]
 
na, the Devils swept the Rangers in the eastern conference quarterfinals.
 
The Ducks themselves swept the Aves in the previous round and it was that, which caused them not to play for a week before they met the Oilers last Friday.

Till the end is in sight for the series I'm not prepared to call it.

I fell asleep between period 2 - 3 and woke up at 4-0 and now look at it 3 quick goals by the Ducks, with a reviewed shot as well. Almost wnat to fall asleep again with the hope that we score whilst I'm asleep...

No problem Pisani has just popped in with a goal
 
If we play like we finished the game off tonight, then forget about it the Ducks will come back, but wow! That's the play-off's for you.... I'm tired, and yet really estatic at the same time.

This was the best play off game of the season so far.

Did the Dippers celebrate with us in 99? Did City celebrate with us then? Did Utd celebrate after Istanbul?

The only thing the Flames will celebrate is the Oilers getting beat. Having been onto a Calgary forum recently, the amount of complaints about the ref's biased towards the Oilers is unreal. Still it's always nice to see Cowtown so bitter, after they had there 5 minutes of glory, we're showing them that Canada prefers the Oilers than them.

This is becoming really tough to listen too. I just hope the Oilers can grab something early on the PP at the start of period 3.

The zebra's are dominating this game something rotten.
 
I stopped posting in the hope that because I'd broken my rules for this series it would turn things around. Now the 7 game streak is at an end, I've got to find another set of rules that will bring us luck.

The Oilers were badly outshot last night and were kept in check by the zebra's. They really took it upon themselves in the 2nd period, where if I recall, had all of about 30 seconds of 5 on 5 for the first 10 or so minutes. The Oilers were coming back, till the 2nd Delay the Game call of the game on Staios which derailed the comeback train. From then on in, it just didn't look as if we were going to score again.

Credit to the Ducks for winning this game, but I think this was down to two factors alone. The amount of games the Oilers have played and the flu bug within the camp. The Oilers have looked real tired over the past couple of games, but once they get the legs back, normal service will be resumed.
 
They best bloody hadn't!!!

I did however say that the sweep wasn't on till game 4 was over, I wasn't confident at all. I have this as a 6 game series, but I really hope it's only a 5 game show now. The Oilers are in need of a rest, and not a summer long rest.
 
did I hear that right? Roloson threw up in the 2nd intermission of game 4?
 
Yes, just reading that myself, what the hell he was doing playing then I don't know. The Juice could have played that one, even though he's not played for ages. It would have been ok to do so, as I'm sure most Oilers would have accepted on hearing Roli was ill.

Apparently he's feeling much better now though, so it could be the Roli we know and love come tonights game.

2-1 to the Oilers, to make it 4-1 in the series, time to party and time to show the Flames just how to win the cup. :devil:

I'm happy that the Oilers won and going to the finals, but an hour coverage on sportsnet news is ridiculus....
