NHL 2016-2017

Heh, at this point Guentzel might very well end up winning the Conn Smythe...

Also, Pekka chose the worst possible time to have a meltdown. Preds should have won at least 1 and both losses are mainly his fault

Great game 3 for the Preds, kept Crosby and Malkin shot free, and won 5-1. A great pick up from the two tough losses, and so we come to game 4.. It's up in the air as to who'll win, I don't make anyone favoutire for this game, the series possibly.

Preds have dominated every game so far but Rinne has been kinda crap. I'm still hoping the Pens pull out the win!

Preds have been the better team in every game. If Rinne didn't have a two games meltdown this series might well be already over

And now the pens will win in 7...

Game 4 was pretty even. Rinne just made some incredible saves at big times in the game. Hard to see the pens win but i'm still hoping.

Fun game last night, some outstanding goaltending by both keepers. The Preds second goal, shows how well replay can work. It even caught the announcers by surprise when play was stopped a minute or so later.

Yeah that was very close, would've been a fabulous save otherwise.

I hear the refs names are being printed on this one? Not sure how Crosby continues to take that Conn Smythe trophy, should of been Geno this year.

First time since Detroit in 97' that a team wins 2 concecutive times. And it makes me happy that Hörnqvist &Hagelin settled it:D:cool:

Although, a perfect legit goal by Nashville was disallowed in second period.

Matt Murray made history: 2 Stanley Cups in his first 2 seasons.

Congrats to the Pens, but that was another shocking call by the officials in this post season. I can't recall when the refs have made so many mistakes, I just hope it's a one off.

Just watching it now. So how does it work then? Vegas are a new team and can 'pick' literally any 'unprotected' player from a rival team?
What if the player doesn't want to go?
Guessing the 'protected' statuses ensure a super-team isn't created?

What if the player doesn't want to go?

Literally the same thing if they don't want to go.....to who initially drafted them in their first draft or when they get traded.

Kick up a fuss if you are big enough, but nothing mostly.

So they can potentially stay?

Does the team losing the player get compensation etc when a player leaves?

Nah. By kicking up a fuss, I meant generally more in their initial draft.....but that's quite rare, the Sedin twins wanted to be together and essentially any team would have to work to get the top 2 picks I think. It's more common in the NFL/NBA for players to manipulate where they'll go, but not really.

In terms of trading and this expansion draft....yeah not much can be done, but they probably would of guessed it by now or at least had the time to prepare for this one. Management can just show up in the training room "say your goodbyes, you've been moved to winnapeg"....

They know the piece of meat life they get into.

Wow that's rough on a human level!
