Brady will most definitely not do either one of those things this season.

Of course he would, since Brees will overtake him this or next weekend in total yards.

Why not? 2,200 yards and 15 touchdowns or so in 13 games even with a poor team is doable surely. Certainly seems more probable then not tbh.

Feck, I was only looking at regular season stats, thought he needed 45 TDs and 5,000+ yards to overtake Manning

Apologies @JarleA

Haha. Doesn’t surprise me that Manning is ahead on the regular season by such a large distance.

What I think would be a really interesting statistical comparison is Brady vs Manning regular season and Brady vs Manning post season. Not talking about pure totals but ratings, touchdowns, etc.

I personally think Brady is ahead of Manning anyway, but if Brady’s post season performances improve and Mannings’ go down, that bulls all arguments about coaching and team quality etc. Especially since theoretically the Pats have the easiest division and thus Brady should be finding it harder and Manning easier come the playoffs.

Rams-Vikings should be a good game tonight. If the Vikings D is as bad as the weekend, Rams could be looking at a big win.

Would’ve liked to have seen that matchup, stupid Thursday night games

Game seemed much more enticing before the Bills did something no one expected!

Don’t expect Vikings to be anywhere near as bad as they were against the Bills but before I was seeing this as a probably NFC Champ Game dress rehearsal. Now not so sure, but still should be good.

Also if watching on amazon prime, (which starts from this week for TNF), first ever all female broadcasting crew which I think is pretty cool.

Rams without Talib and maybe Peters?

If the stats in the tweet is correct, he most definitely will, as the stats include playoff games.

If you're only thinking about regular season, he most certainly won't.

And of course I'm biased, I'm a Pats fan. People will always be biased in discussions like these, there's no way around it. IMHO Brady cemented his GOAT status with his fifth ring and eight super bowls. Peyton is probably the regular season GOAT ;)

Edit: Forgot to refresh the thread before posting, @RobinLFC , I see you've already noticed the regular vs. post season difference! Sorry about that.

The story about Griffen is scary, it seems that his mental health is really bad at the moment.

That’s not what bias means. Bias is how objective one is in forming that opinion.
Yes, I understand that. But opinions can create bias. Having the opinion that the patriots are dirty cheaters will make you biased. At the end of the day, it's hard for someone with good enough knowledge of the game to also be 100% objective. Most fans have a team they support, or players they like. But it's not like it's hard to cast that aside. Belichick is still regarded by most to be the greatest coach of all time, and he's pretty much hated by half the league. These arguments often transcend bias anyway.

I wonder how much Manning had to rely on purposely drawing pass interferences to move the ball down the field.

I agree. And certainly accept that. But at times there are opinions shaped by bias and opinions driven by bias. The latter s where you’re only willing to look at one half on an argument. You can be biased and still make a valid and fair(ish) opinion.

So Eric Reid goes to the Panthers and we have Brice starting games and injuring our own players. But god forbid Reid takes a knee. He might hurt someone in the process.

We have a shootout out in Los Angeles in probably the marquee matchup of the week (although the Vike’s pitiful loss against the Bills killed the hype somewhat).

Both offenses are on fire with neither defense stopping the other team from scoring in the first four overall possessions. 14-10 Rams in the 2nd after Goff’s 70 yard bomb to Kupp.

Edit: 17-14 now with the Vikings responding in kind to the Rams score with a quick TD of their own. 5 possessions, 5 scores.

Hell of a game so far. Rams are looking terrifying, not looking forward to them playing the Seahawks next week.

Vikings made a huge mess to end the half. Should have had at least one shot at the end zone at a minimum.

The Viking’s defense isn’t the one we saw last season unless the Eagles game was a more accurate indication (although Griffin is out). Goff torching the secondary.

Vikings wasted a good 10 seconds on the last drive and are now out of time. That was poor clock management as they even had a time out remaining. Rams lead by 8 at the end of the second quarter.

Have not followed the NFL as much as I used to but, with guys like Goff and Mahomes it looks like there is finally a bunch of good young QBs in the NFL who are ready to take over. I always felt that over time the popularity of the spread offense at all levels of the game and the fact that every young QB has probably been going to 7 on 7 tournaments since they were eight years old would lead to a lot of talented Quarterbacks. Back when almost every youth Football team and most HS teams were running either Triple Option or a power running scheme young QBs would rarely get chances to throw the ball. Now every young QB gets a lot more reps passing the ball.

I think they'll still end losing a few games anyway. They're facing the Pack, Saints and Chiefs in the space of four weeks and still have the likes of Philly at the end of the season, need to go to Soldier Field as well... 13-3 seems likely to me. They're also lucky their rise happens right now when Seattle's peak is over, Arizona can't get past midfield and the Niners lost their QB for the season, but that's the NFL of course.

Crazy to think it's less than two years ago when they were led by Keenum and Fisher to a 4-12 record with Gurley having less than 900 yards and only 6 TDs.

Adam Thielen is a fecking stud btw, love that guy.

Makes a huge difference. A lot of new talent on the roster too though.

Goff’s stats

If they can avoid too many injuries, the Rams have a very balanced team with so much talent. They’re a great example of what makes the NFL so good when a team can go from one of the worst to one of the best in 2-3 years.

And the thing is too, they as an organisation also understand how important this time is. With Oakland going to Vegas, and the Chargers already joining them in LA, they know how important it is to do well as they need to be the go-to team for fans. It’s so key because what they do now will have an impact for generations to come in terms of fan base etc.

If the Rams win the Super Bowl this year (not guaranteed but certainly have potential) then they’ll be the team young fans will go to in that area.

Well it's Friday so cue another crazy Jerry Jones moment.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...w-dallas-cowboys-los-angeles-rams/1457303002/
--“Well, I like our offensive line, the way it stacks up against the Rams, to be specific to compare to the Rams,” Jones said. “But I like our offensive line. I think it’s fair to say we’ve both got good running backs. The quarterback, I remember Goff when they first came in and they kind of moved him along at a slower pace than Dak got to come in, but I know we have been as proud of Dak as those, the Rams fans, are of their quarterback.---

This sounds like something Trump would say.

--Added Jones: “When I look at the Rams as a team, I have visions of being like that.”--

No, Jerry, the Cowboys won't. The Rams have a good HC and solid receivers, your club does not have either. Stop hiring adopted sons and yes men.

Cowboys are one of the dumbest teams in the league and I absolutely love that . This guy is absolutely clueless and they will not improve till he is the GM
