Yep, they are the most bemusing thing in the NFL rulebook. I remember Rodgers' two hail mary throws to tie the Cardinals and go to OT in the divisional round a few years back. Didn't even get to touch the ball again. Madness.

Was that the game he fumbled in OT? If so, that was his "chance" as they had a possession.

No, the Cardinals had one play that went for TD.
Nah Fitz ran it to the 5 and then ran it in with a shovel pass if that's the game you're talking about (crazy play from Palmer to stay avoid the sack as well).

The rules suck indeed though, as much as I like to see the Saints winning, Ryan not even touching the ball in OT is simply unfair.

Shanahan said Jimmy G is fearing a torn ACL but hasn't spoken to him. Beathard said Jimmy told him to lead the guys.

How could anyone ever think it’s a good idea to trade away Mack? The guy is so damn good. Put the Bears on a whole new level.

Raiders have actually been close in all 3 losses , imagine them with Mack in the team . Carr is much better than Trubisky

I fully anticipate Dallas carrying on with Jason Garrett well into the next decade despite being a shit coach. And that's not aimed at today's result, just a general statement. Jason Garrett is a shit head coach.

kind of disappointing to be honest. i was really hoping for one of those famous ford field nights but when the opponents are such a low level squad its hard to really get excited

Brady picked now. The Patriots start of the season does have an end of era feel about it.

Didn't the Pats also start with 1-2 last season, only to go 11-1 in the remaining games? Or was it the season before?

Saints v Falcons was a classic match
Yeah, great end-to-end stuff. Commentator called it one of the greatest OT drives he'd ever seen. Never thought I'd see Brees rushing for two TDs in the same game

He has faced two horrible secondaries in the 49ers and Steelers though, and even the Chargers defence was severely depleted. Let's see how he does against the Jags in two weeks time.

You only had three receivers - Hogan, Dorsett and Patterson, that's very concerning indeed even with Brady under center. Flash can't be fit soon enough now.

Wtf Patriots?! We started slow last season too but there seem to be a number of issues this year (lack of receivers, running game more limited than usual, no pass rush, secondary sucks)

Game against Miami will be key. Can’t afford to drop to 1-3.

Yep we can’t.

Different feel about it this year though. Like, it seems a lot worse. Last year we had a bad defence but an offence that could get you there. This year, there’s just issues across the board. WR, o-like, d-line, rest of the front 7 and secondary too. All way below required standards.

Can’t see us fixing it all. At best we patch over a number of issues and make the divisional week, but we will get whooped by teams like the chiefs and Jags in the AFC and a good 4/5 NFC Teams.

Agreed. On defense, our secondary gets cut apart too often, we give up too much on the ground & when Flowers went out against Jags, the little pass rush we had went with him. Last few years we’ve had the ‘bend not break’ defense, but that’s not working at all this year.

Like you said, last year we had an offense with options. The thing that really annoyed me was failing to replace Dola & Cooks. Belichick knew Jules was out 4 games too so to start the season with 3 receivers was really poor management - and of those receivers, Hogan is the only one I trust to know the offense & contribute somewhatat.

Both Jags & KC are better than what we are. If they play like they have started the season, I’d actually be excited to see how Mahomes & that offense does against the Jags D.

If you had said at the start of the season we (Dolphins) would be 3-0 i'd of bit your hand off. Madden actually had us rated the worst team this year :D.

Need Gordon to offer a deep threat next week and then Edelman will be back the week after. Offense should pick up then.

It's a bit insane how bad the Pats skill positions are considering how little money Brady is on. In a league where Rams, Bears,Chiefs and Eagles etc are building up crazy rosters with rookie contract quarterbacks it is genuinely hard to compete with a roster like the one the pats have
