So Matthews will be used as an example of how not to tackle / what to penalise

Lmao
Flag football is coming

Dreading this game tonight. One of the worst O-Lines in the league (us, sadly) vs. Khalil freaking Mack. Obviously it's MNF so I'm excited as hell, but I just know this could get ugly.

Wagner, Wright and Baldwin out as well. Shaquill Griffin and the rookie corner banged up.

In regards to the Gordon trade, it’s a good move with low risk I think. If he fecks up then send him off.

What I find strange though is that this is eerily similar to something we could have done with Dez, albeit different reasons for why it’s a risk. Interesting that we went for Gordon and not Dez then.

I was saying the same thing to a couple fellow Cowboys fans, one of them grew up in MA and is kinda a Pats fans in more of a "I like my home state club but they're not my favorite." They argued that Bryant is a diva and I'm like but he'll play for the team and is no more diva than any other mercurial receiver out there. And he won't be suspended for stupid off the field decisions.

Bryant may not be a good route runner, does not possess the explosive separation he had in his prime, but he'd still make opposing defenses think twice on isolating him one-on-one in the red zone to double team Gronk.

But we all agreed on this must be an indictment on at least one thing, and perhaps two. One, that Bryant is definitely no longer seen as top tier, possibly not even viewed as second tier level to play for a top contender. And two, perhaps, is that there is some truth, perhaps something not made public but known in NFL circles, about Bryant that has alienated him within inner circles.

Could indeed be either of those. To be honest though, I believe it is probably the former. NFL teams give players second chances despite a whole host of things. I find it difficult to believe Bryant has done something / has something about him that is much worse than some of the things NFL teams have chosen to ignore and take a punt on. And to compound that, if there is something that is THAT bad, I find it hard to believe it could be kept under wraps given all the shit Bryant chats.

That's probably true. Gordon's cap hit is only about $700k. I doubt they could sign Dez for anything similar.

Seahawks are lucky they have an easy schedule in the first few weeks but if they don't win quickly it could get really ugly for them , they have a stretch in the middle where they will lose 5-6 in a row

Really not sure what's easy about going to Denver for your first game. The Bears defence at home isn't going to be easy for most teams either.

Broncos , Bears , Cardinals and Cowboys in the first 4 weeks means 4 teams that didn't make the playoffs last season . If I did a pre season power ranking all 4 of them would be in the bottom 16 and I think there is a great chance that none of these 4 will make the playoffs .

Really hoping Mahomes has an off day against us this week! I watched the Chiefs game from last week and his throws were incredible. He has confidence that he can make every throw and his play is reinforcing this. I think he is one of the most fascinating QB prospects I have seen for a long time - and hope he continues his trajectory - just not this week against my Niners :)

There is an exciting young group of QBs in the league right now, but Mahomes really look special! Even though the sample size is stills mall, I reckon he'll take the Chiefs deep into the playoffs this season already.

Could've been the latter. Was under the impression Jonesy had minders on retainer for Dez to keep him out of the spotlight.

Eagles got Jordan Matthews back , his first stint was really interesting as he had good numbers but not a lot of impact. Knows the offence and has played with Wentz so could be a good move

Maroon 5 to perform at the Super Bowl this year.

Really think the Browns will finally win tonight - their D is much improved, playing against a rookie QB.

Hope so.

I kinda feel it could go one of two ways.

Browns aren’t really a team to chase down a team from behind with their offence (I know they kinda did vs Steelers but I also feel like Pittsburgh were also largely responsible for their own calamitous breakdown). If the Jets get into an early lead, they could be in trouble especially if Darnold settles and is playing freely.

If they themselves get an early lead or the game is tight, I think we will get W2 not W1 Darnold and then the advantage is very much with the Browns.

The Jets have a good defence too. But I think the Browns win today (or tomorrow technically!).

Will be a very interesting narrative if Darnold leads the Jets to a W over Cleveland with Baker still on the sideline.

Yeah the Browns are going to win. Short week, home advantage. They have been playing well too. Jets o line isn't great. Everything points to Browns win for me.

Indeed. But, I have to say, I can’t recall a team in recent years whom had a first round QB with a QB on the roster with the quality of Taylor. It’s very different to sitting Allen for Peterman, for example. Much more akin to sitting Mahomes for Smith. Which now looks like a pretty good decision. If Mayfield continues to learn and develop, Taylor will be gone in a year. And the Browns ain’t gonna do anything this year, so if it seems positive to sit Mayfield they should continue to do so. There’s no right answer though. Some benefit by getting straight in, others benefit by waiting.
