Ravens and Colts fans will be pissed

Texans move into a bye spot

Really frustrating loss. The penalties killed us big time. Really amateurish the number of false starts we had.

Also I’m concerned by our RedZone offense. It’s sucked all year & did so again. We need to get Gordon more involved. He had a drop, but hardly got targeted after that. A player of his quality should have a bigger role in this offense, especially since Gronk is doubled all the time.

Houston should get the bye. Even with home field advantage, I don’t see this team beating either Baltimore or Chargers in the wildcard week.

What a shit day of sports.

Offense doesn’t look good. Defence doesn’t look good.

But today penalties killed us. Terrible showing. And I think after what happened in Miami, it’s even more telling that we didn’t come up on fire.

Not our year at all I think.

I can see us pulling a win at Gillette in the wildcard week (not going to be chargers unless we really feck up and drop to the 4th seed). But I can’t see us doing anything on the road against any of the top or even middleing AFC teams.

Phew pulled that off! Just win the next 2 and watch the Cowboys lose both their games and it's playoff time

Gronk was useless? More like, he was double and triple covered.

Our offence is one dimensional and isn’t firing at all. And when that happens (and there is no cooks, no dola, an underperforming Brady) it’s easy to put two and three on him.

The thing that got me was how the OL was so easily bullied by 4/5 rushers. Not even constant blitzes, just good pressure up front & double coverage on Gronk threw off our offense. It was really poor that McDaniels/Brady couldn’t come up with something different, especially the lack of passes to Gordon who should be having an impact if Gronk is being guarded by 2/3 defenders.

Also, I’ve said it all season that the RedZone offense sucks. If we can’t fix that, we’re not going far in the playoffs.

Aye, we can’t get it in in the RedZone. Which does baffle me. We have two true RedZone threats in Gordon and Gronk. And to complement it, a solid run game. And if that wasn’t enough, we have a very good scat back in White and a playmaker in Edelman. Between those, we should be able to make plays to get one of them open. But just seems we aren’t able to do so presently.

I don’t think we are going far even if we fix RedZone offence. I think we win in wildcard week, as likely @ Gillette. But after that, on the road twice, I don’t see us getting very far. If we go third seed, likely second seed is Texans. And that’s winnable potentially in the divisional round on the road, but tough as they’ll be rested and can expect a game plan thoroughly set up. But if we make the champ. game, unless Chiefs/Chargers mess up and we end up back at Gillette, we are done for. And add to that, we will get thumped in the Super Bowl regardless if we fudge our way there.

Defence did well enough in that game. Held Steelers to a total that we should've passed if our redzone threat was existent.

Gronk is just about done. I think he'll retire after this season. A shadow of his former self.

Yeah I think so too. The injuries & hits look to have taken their toll.

Remember when two defenders couldn't stop him? He'd just catch the ball over their heads and drag them along for 15 yards after the catch. Now he's almost at the point where there's not even a point in double coverage unless he's literally in the end zone. Still a decent threat, but he's simply lost his wheels/bullishness. Surprised Belichick didn't see it coming, or even disappointed if he did, but decided not to do anything significant other than Gordon for the Red Zone/deep threat.

You must have missed the trade attempt in the offseason.

I saw some headlines. Getting rid of him wasn't what I was thinking about, though. Not resigning Cooks, for example, was a mistake imo. Taking a punt on Gordon, who's played 10 games the previous two seasons combined is fine, but not really a sure thing, and he hasn't exploded like BB was hoping.

Hopefully Brady will still be motivated after this season, and I pray Bill and the rest of the office spend the offseason building a juggernaut around him. They'll have something like $20m cap space before any moves, cuts, etc, so at least they'll have some flexibility.

Cooks doesn’t fit the philosophy (never did), and our TE depth is already lacking. Think we need to draft a TE tbh.

Saints

They have fizzled out in the past few weeks
Really have, Rams have slipped as well with Goff reverting back to his rookie season form. Reckon the Bears as NFC favourites right now.

6 losses in a row for the Panthers, amazing how badly their season has fallen apart. Might as well sit Cam for the last two games given his shoulder injury.

Phillip Lindsay becomes the first undrafted rookie voted to the Pro Bowl in his first season. He's been a real highlight this year, well deserved.

So i guess Bakthiari will manage to be a member of the all pro team without making the pro bowl a third time. They should just stop the fans from voting linemen. Bakthiari and Whitworth not making it is ridiculous. No Jason Kelce aswell. What a shitshow.

The Pats are just about at the end of their success cycle. Once Brady declines substantially, that will be that. He can't indefinitely throw to the likes of Gordon, Edelman and Gronk and expect it to work every single year, and since Brady is now in his 40s, you have to think this could be the final year they make deep playoff run under the Belichick regime.

Saw something on ESPN this morning, a segment on national signing day for college (basically where adults wank themselves silly over which school signed what teenager). It was mentioned there was chatter over the past couple weeks, whether to lure a talent away from or perhaps legit chatter, that Harbaugh was leaning towards the Green Bay job and this may have affected recruits signing/not signing with Michigan. Make of that what you will. One tasty rumor to salivate over.

Unless they luck out on another top tier talent in the draft or make a shrewd FA move. Watch them snag Mullens in 2021 and he turns into the next great QB.

I do wonder if Belicunt hangs it up when Brady does, departs to coach elsewhere, or sticks around to see if he can win without the GOAT.

Yep, what a great effort. He's really deserved it.
