But he does it. A lot. To the point its obvious we are going to do it from a set up.
Its basically him saying 'ok lets settle for 3'

I can’t speak on tendencies as I watch too many games to remember each teams! But yes if you’re always going for screens and draws on third and long then it’s obviously a problem. Sometimes just being good at something is more important though. I can call with pretty darn good accuracy when I think we will run or pass. If I can, opposing Ds can. And sometimes it’s not about misdirection, it’s just about being good enough to get it done regardless.

It's been a trend. AR resets the play at the line when he feels like it, but overall he depends on player to beat opponent. No innovative plays to keep opposition guessing.

Just seen the highlights. James White is so integral to our offense.

Rodgers deserves a better coach. I get McCarthy won a SB but he’s been poor the past few seasons when Rodgers should be at his peak (injuries aside). Packers are unlikely to make the playoffs, I think they should change coach before next season.

He is isn’t he. I thought Gordon stepped up big too. And Patterson’s versatility is so important right now with Michel out.

Agree on Rodgers and the Packers.

He’s getting to know the offense & Brady’s now trusting him. You can see him improving each game. Hopefully his attitude stays right. Between Gordon, Gronk, Jules, White & Hogan, Brady has plenty of targets. Just need to keep them all healthy.

Hope Michel returns soon too. He really impressed me before his injury & having a power running game makes a big difference imo.

Absolutely. Can be seen by Brady’s figures that we are much more balanced.

A lot was made of Rodgers vs Brady.
But yesterday showed a huge gulf in class in coaching too. Would love to see BB coaching Rodgers at Packers for at least a season or two...

Watching Brady beating Chiefs and Packers makes it just more incredible that we beat the Pats in the SB with Nick Foles . Still don't understand how that happened

Your D made that 1 play that ended up being the difference. Our D was a shambles & Philly kept converting 3rd downs for fun (I'm still unsure wtf happened with Butler & Belichick).

Also Foles catching the ball>>>>Brady.

You could easily argue Hunter is not even top 3 on his own team on defense, let alone in the entire league. Quality player though.

The argument is getting tougher.:D

So it's now settled on Redcafe, Brady > Rodgers and we'll never hear of it again, right?
Sure, Brady beat Rodgers, but bear with me here, there's a famous QB who beat Brady in the playoffs. That QB is Mark Sanchez. For the transitive property, Mark Sanchez is the best QB of all time and the butt fumble was a genius play, we heathens were just too dumb to understand it

Agreed, he's having a fantastic season so far, All-Pro level really.

Bruce Arians said he'd only come out of retirement for the Browns job, would love to see that happen! Think they'd have a winning record next season if he goes there.

Amari Cooper gets his first touchdown as a cowboy . Hopefully first of many

Dez will work out for the Saints today.

Only watched the first half, but losing this game is embarrassing for the Cowboys. I know I’m repeating myself, but their coaching is awful. Dak doesn’t look too good either. A shame, really. That team has a lot of potential.
They got two gifts very early on and still screwed up.

Some interesting comments from Demaryius Thomas in the aftermath of his trade and first game as a non-Bronco.

On the ridiculously stupid play calling on the final drive, stopping rather than trying to make the FG attempt shorter:

"That's what they do over there," Thomas told NFL.com. "I ain't a part of that no more. We like to win over here.

General comments on the organisation and coaching staff:

“If you want to be better, you’ve got to listen to your players. They’ve been playing for a long time,” Thomas said. “There were games I wanted to change stuff up on the field because I knew it would make us better. I used to do that with Peyton.

“I’m the talent. You watch film, but when I see something and you’re not on the field with me, let’s just try to do something different,” he added. “I guarantee it’ll be better for the squad.”

“I’m not bashing nobody. I love football. I love winning. I’ve been studying so long,” he said. “We could do special things if we just did things together as a group.”

“When I got here, Rod knew I didn’t know shit. I was just big and I could run. Rod just stayed on me and stayed on me and as the years go, everything got better,” Thomas said, admitting he didn’t know the pro game coming from the triple option at Georgia Tech. “I was raw as all raw. When I got information from Rod, starting giving it to the younger guys.”

DT was clearly unhappy with how the entire situation went down - hearing rumors of being traded all season but being told by Vance Joseph that it wasn’t happening and then hearing from his agent that it was - but he also acknowledged feeling unappreciated.

“I never cried about getting the ball. I didn’t bitch about nothing. I’m sorry,” he said, admitting that talking about it gets him emotional. “It just hurts. I’m empty. I’m just empty still.”

On how they handled the trade:

“It was so tough,’’ Thomas said of the split from the only NFL team he had known. “Even leading up to the Kansas City game (October 28) it was tough, because that one day, I didn't say anything to anybody. I walk into the job and Vance Joseph walks up to me and says, 'Don't listen to the trade talks, it's not true.'

“Before the season started, the trade talk was still going, and nobody said anything to me. Why come to me Monday when it's the same talk? When he said that to me, I said, 'How is it not true? My agent (Todd France) called me today and said Elway wanted a fifth-round pick for me.'

“So, we're telling stories to each other now? I thought we were going to be men about this. Leading up to the Kansas City game, that's when this all started -- the emotional everything, because I knew it was something. I knew something was going to happen, but I still had to grind it out, play their game and get through it, because I didn't know.

“I played the game like I was going to be here, but I didn't know. Listening to that from him, and then another couple coaches coming up to me and saying, 'Oh yeah, it's all fake.' Then it really happens, it's like, 'Man, it is what it is.'"

“You know what bothers me -- I don't want to stir any pot -- but it bothers me … I had people from Denver saying like, 'They really said they got rid of you because you were the problem on offense and they said they wanted to better the offense,’’’ Thomas said. “I'm like, 'Really, bro?' People just kept stirring it on.

“I heard they were saying that Vance was saying something, and Elway was saying something. I did so much for this organization and never had nothing bad to say about anybody—none of the players I played with. I just did my job and kept it as professional as I could. For you all to say that I was one of the reasons that the offense wasn't going, and say this and that, man, that hurt."

I understand why you might want to trade certain players, but why lie about it, tell him its not true etc?

Might have to go to NYC for work ... if it all goes to plan I’ll see the Pats @ Jets and the next weekend drive up to Boston to see Pats vs Vikings.

It sounds too good to be true so chances are something will feck it up

The sooner Joseph is booted the feck out the better.

I'm also starting to question Elway.
Yeah I personally don’t see what Joseph has done to justify being there.

And reality is it could be a lot worse than Keenum. But Elway is to blame for not dealing with that situation. Also Lynch seems to be a mega bust. The only good thing he done was to not resign Brocky O.

Joseph has done absolutely nothing to justify keeping his job, and many many many things to justify losing it. He was never the right choice in the first place.

Lynch was cut already and in a huge surprise to absolutely nobody he wasn't picked up by another team.

I don't know what the QB answer is, but it's not Keenum and the draft options next year are apparently no good so we're probably fecked for a few years.

Whiffing on Lynch and Shanahan 2.0 set us back a good 5 years.

I still don't understand the snubbing of Shanahan particularly when you have Wade Philips who is perfectly able to take care of every single aspects of the defense.

Because Elway thinks he's smarter than everyone else so has to go a different way.

What would your top 10 power rankings look like right now?

Mine would be

Saints
Rams
Patriots
Chiefs
Chargers
Panthers
Steelers
Vikings
Texans
Skins

Didn't realise it would be so hard after 6-7. A lot of teams beyond 8 are pretty close

I would steal your ranking even though I think the Vikings should probably be higher, if I'm not mistaken it's the team that has been the most handicapped by high profile injuries in that top 10.

Was an absolutely awful performance by Dallas. I'll be very surprised if both Garrett and Linehan are in their positions by the end of the season.

Was awful last night but they've actually been good this season so far.

Sean Lee injured again though. Time is probably up for him tbh.
That‘s a shame. Sean Lee is such an incredible player. When fully fit, he’s up there with Kuechly and Wagner.

Dez to the Saints! 1-year deal. They still play the Cowboys this season
