NFL Thread 2019

I am not that familiar with the rules but wasnt he still trying to get the ball under control even after landing out of bounds?
He got both feet in so doesn’t matter where his body landed. Imo he has control throughout the process.

The Lions fumble looks like it doesnt have enough evidence to overturn. I hope it stands

Fitz yes, not sure about Gore. Need to look at his numbers.
Just joined Payton, Smith and Sanders as the only RBs in history to record 15k rushing yards... I didn’t follow the NFL when he was at SF so can’t comment on his younger days but when he gets in I feel it’s more on durability than ability.

He was an amazing RB in his younger days. He had beaten out Willis McGahee at Miami before tearing his ACL in his sophomore year of college. McGahee went on to rush for 1700 yards that year.

When he got into the league with the 49ers, he either set or came close to setting their all time record for Yards Per Carry average in his 2nd or 3rd season. He was big enough to run for power and fast enough to hit breakaways. He’s also been a good receiver out of the backfield throughout his career.

@RobinLFC @Hephaestus Just took a look at Gore's numbers. His consistency and longevity will be why he makes the HoF, but not sure if he's 1st ballot. Guess it depends on who else will be eligible that year. Never led the league in rushing, 5 Pro Bowls in 15+ years, only had 10 or more TDs once, no MVPs, never won a Super Bowl, etc. The 15k career yards, 12 seasons with 1200 total yards, and 4th most rushing yards certainly gets him in though.

I get the part about where he landed not mattering. I'm talking about the fact that the ball was bobbling about and he was still trying to control it as he landed.

He’s got the NFL record for most seasons with over 1200 yards from scrimmage. He took that record from Jerry Rice.

And when you consider his longevity in the NFL, at a position where the average career is 2.5 seasons, also consider...
When Kenyan Drake was 8 years old, Frank Gore tore his right anterior cruciate ligament in a practice for the University of Miami. When Drake was 9, Gore tore his left A.C.L. By the time Drake was 16, Gore had endured reconstructive surgery on both shoulders and was trying to come back from a broken hip.

Highly likely he makes it in first ballot. The only people ahead of him are Barry Sanders, Payton, and Emmitt Smith - and he will likely finish the year with only two ahead of him.

What a play by Kyle Allen to escape Watt and then convert the 3rd down.
