NFL Thread 2019

Speaking of mis-speaking, Jerry Jones kept saying precedent, instead of precedence the other day. He did it three times in the quick succession!

I can speak better English than him. I should be the billionaire.

Serious question. Isn't it supposed to be 'than he does" instead of "than him"?

Anyone else feel bad for Hunter Renfrow when Gruden says they need to get bigger and faster and then shows the pic of a shirtless Renfrow doing his best "Tom Brady at the combine" impersonation? The whole team starts laughing.

Patrick Chung indicted on a felony cocaine charge - can’t even have a bit of fun in the offseason these days! Happened two months ago, would be a big miss for the Pats if he’s suspended for a few games.

Will he take a lie detector test to prove it was actually baking soda?

I’d just like to apologise for instigating the conversion of this thread from NFL to English grammar.

Yeah that’s gonna be a big miss for us if he’s suspended.

Yikes, how much cocaine constitutes a felony charge? Gotta be at least a pound right? Doubt he got caught with an 8-ball for personal use.

Apparently his burglar alarm went off so the police had probable cause to enter his property and they happened to find the coke. Will be interesting to see if it sticks.

That's so unlucky, to get caught like that when you're actually just minding your own business. But like already said, I doubt it'd be a felony charge for just a few lines for personal use.

burger alarm
I need this in my life.

Meanwhile, another injury for Cam.

Very surprising. I wonder if he has mental health issues to go along with the physical injuries or is it just as simple as he no longer had a love for the game?
Sure, he’s turning down a lot of money but maybe that’s not important to him?

One thing I remember about the guy is that he had a flip phone when he was drafted. Likes the simple life, maybe.

Well he’s made close to $100 million already, so I doubt he's hurting for money. Good to see him going out on his own terms at least. Man has his priorities straight.

 Sounds the opposite, and he's made an enlightened decision. I also remember the story about his flip phone. Makes me think he's invested responsibly and hasn't pissed all his money away. Whenever I heard him speak or read an article about him, he always came across as being humble and not like your typical professional athlete. Big soccer fan as well iirc.

Woke up to this news and just stunned. Thats a lot of money to walk away from but I guess you have to do what's best for you. As you would expect the fans in Indianapolis reacted in a classy way, NOT.

feck the Colts for booing him. Pathetic. Classless.

Also feck all the Tom Brady random comparisons. Brady is the luckiest man in sports history. He would have achieved sweet f.a. with this Colts team.

Noooo :(

This and a Lamar Miller ACL tear. Feck last night.

Wow!!! That’s really unexpected. Massive decision for him, fans booing him are assholes.

The Colts ruined him. What a shitty franchise. A real shame. Seems like a good guy and he was so exciting to watch.

The Brady hate is hilarious. :)
That’s true. But even Brady wouldn’t have won anything with Pagano as his coach and Grigson as GM. The lack of competence in this organisation is staggering. How they wasted Luck’s career is inexcusable.

Imagine battling through one injury after the other to play for that team.

So, since no starters will play in Week 4 of the preseason anymore, it's prediction time I guess. A reminder for those who participated last year:
