NFL Thread 2019

As a Raiders fan, the whole AB saga is definitely taking the shine off a relatively positive off-season. At least it's taking the focus away from our D-line where I still don't see where we're going to get the sacks from. Ferrell hasn't had the impact you'd hope for from the 4th overall pick, and our DT's don't seem to generate any rush. Anyway, here's hoping that the noise dies down, he gets back into practice and the whole mess goes away

Yeah, it’s helping gloss over how poor Ferrell has been so far.

I still cant believe we traded Mack.

I still cant believe we traded Mack.
After last season it looked like a terrible decision. I suspect that after this season it'll look like an even worse decision. I can only think that we didn't have the cash to pay both him and Carr, and rolled with Carr. In some ways you can understand that decision cos its bloody hard to find a franchise QB, and easier, relatively, to find an effective edge rusher. However, the complete lack of any edge pressure has ended up killing us, and Carr's play seriously deteriorated in the last two seasons.
Suspect we might tank the season again, and pick up one of the premier QB's in next years draft, especially since Carr's guaranteed money runs out this year. Perhaps also trading for an experienced rusher if we can find one. Clowney as a free agent wouldn't be a bad start.

I can’t believe y’all took Clelin Ferrell with the #4 overall pick. I love the guy, but I never expected him to be the one out of that D-line to be drafted first.

The whole AB thing makes me laugh... this sort of behaviour doesn’t surprise me with him, but ffs it’s a helmet & everyone is affected so get on with it.

Came as a pretty big surprise for most of the fans too. I mean I suppose we needed an edge rusher, and got an edge rusher, but I suspect he would have been available for either of our later first round picks, so to go after him at 4... mad.

That would make some sense, but we then went and splashed big money on Free Agents like AB less than a year later. It cant have been the cash.

Im waiting patiently to see some signs of a plan but not overly confident. Much will depend on this draft class.

Jimmy G having a rough offseason/preseason so far, will be interesting to see whether he can turn it around once the season starts.

Just a bit over 2 weeks left now... The closer it gets, the slower time goes ffs.

I thought that it was satirical.

Is there a college football version of Gamepass and is it any good?

Crabtree to the Cards on a one year deal.

Two weeks till Packers-Bears

Can't wait for the season to start so have done a few bets to up the excitement further. Done a few request a bets with Paddy for the NFL season and bagged some pretty decent odds I think for the following:

None of Cardinals, Bengals, Lions, Buccaneers, Giants, Redskins, Bills, Jaguars, Panthers, Titans, 49ers (11 teams) to make the playoffs @6/1. Only slight possibility I see upsetting that one is the 49ers who could win 8 or 9 games and sneak a wild card spot but will be a tough year for the others.

Patriots, Chiefs, Eagles, Rams, Colts to all win their divisions @11/1. Only doubt for that one I think will be Colts 'if' Andrew Luck's niggle during pre-season turns into something worse.

For Chiefs over 10.5 wins, Falcons over 8.5 wins, Bears over 9 wins, Jets over 7 wins and Bengals under 6.5 wins @14/1. Chiefs should get to 11 wins comfortably, Bears defence will dominate again and offence looks better than last year, Bengals will suck and expect Falcons and Jets to be much better than last season.

Thoughts on the above and choices for MVP, most TD's, most sacks this year?

I don’t think you’ll win any of those bets, way too many opportunities in each one to feck you over.

There’s always one or two surprise PO teams so eliminating 11 is a tough task.

Chargers will be a real threat to the Chiefs, Boys to the Eagles, Colts could be without Luck for God knows how long.

The Jets suck monkey balls so would be surprised to see them get to 8 wins, even though Miami might gift them two.

I agree.

Titans and Panthers have a decent shot at the post season too. Jags as well if Foles upgrades their QB position as expected and their D steps back up to form.

Your second bet has a good chance though. Except for the Colts I think the others have a v good chance.

Third bet is meh, maybe maybe not.

Vikings are gonna win the SuperBowl don't even @ me.

Broncos are gonna win the AFC West don't even @ me.

Watching hard knocks ...

Fecking dislike AB

“Numbers don’t lie, it’s the factual”.. wtf does that even mean

I can't stand the bloke but he said

"Men lie, women lie, the analytics don't, it's factual"

Or at least I thought?

He's still an utter bellend though.

Nope - literally a few seconds after that, he says analytics don’t lie, it’s the “factuals”

Speaking of mis-speaking, Jerry Jones kept saying precedent, instead of precedence the other day. He did it three times in the quick succession!

I can speak better English than him. I should be the billionaire.
