NFL Thread 2019

Zeke informed the Cowboys he wouldn’t play without a new contract and they still haven’t resolved the situation, poor management imo. And fecking worrisome for fantasy football :nervous:

You can’t pick a running back fourth overall and then refuse to pay him after he delivered a few seasons in a row - real waste of draft capital if so.

Bell is still apologizing to fantasy players.

That was hilarious for me since the guy who doesn’t really prepare for the draft and constantly needs to be reminded about setting his line-up picked Bell :D

But yeah that really made people anxious and wary about holdouts though - unless I’m wrong it’s the first time a player actually held out for an entire season.

Anyone going to watch Hard Knocks?

Not overly bothered with All or Nothing but i think i may watch Last Chance U.
And Hard Knocks.

That small fragment on the NFL Instagram page

"Where is Roethlisberger?"
"He's with the Steelers, daddy don't play with Roethlsiberger no more. Derek is our QB now."
"Derek Carter?"

Depends on the team. Put him in a team like Dallas & he’d be more than fine.

Whilst there is obviously going to be a decline (hopefully not as bad as Peyton), I think people are quick to forget in his last three seasons he has lead the Patriots to the biggest comeback in Super Bowl, won the regular season MVP and if he could catch possibly could’ve won another SB and then last season made the big plays when required against Kansas in OT and then the one decent offensive drive against Rams in the snooze fest.
Put Brady in Denver with the line they had last year and if he succeeds, he'll be GOAT.

Watching Hard Knocks now. Gruden was made for this show. Hasn’t been a coach on HK since Rex Ryan with an outsized personality like him.

See quotes attributed to his agent saying Zeke could miss games, it's a ridiculous situation.

Is there something we're not privy to, like more possible suspensions?

There was one incident in the offseason but don't think he's being investigated for that. I think it's more likely that Jones is currently thinking about the looming extensions for Amari and Dak first (cap issues?). What we can definitely rule out is that Jerry doesn't have enough money.

Surely not true but Chris Simms has said:

Antonio Brown dealing with frost bite in his feet due to entering a cryotherapy chamber without appropriate footwear.

Wtf?!

Hmm, that's a little hard to believe. I've seen the picture on his Instagram as well, but can you even get frostbite from cryotherapy? You're only in those rooms for a couple of minutes. I also think that your toes were much more susceptible to frostbite than the bottom of your feet.

The Cowboys have offers on table for Dak, Cooper and Zeke that would put each of them in the top 5 of their position - very generous for Cooper and Dak if you ask me. Jones however thinks that no deals will be done before they're back in Dallas (August 15th).

I know it doesn't even resemble an actual NFL game and most starters won't feature much or at all, but fecking hell I'm excited and will wake up to catch some games tonight

Duke Johnson to the Texans for a conditional 4th rounder in 2020 which could become a third rounder.

I think he'll be the clear cut #2 option and his skill set is very complementary to Lamar Miller.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes for Hard Knocks to come onto game pass?
I used to watch it Friday nights and was hoping to do the same again - hope it's on then

Jakobi Meyers has had an excellent camp thus far.

Nice to see it translate to the game last night.

Was a cracking run. He's got a serious set of wheels on him. Will be interesting to see if he gets much more game time in pre-season
Highly doubt it. Their backfield is fecking crowded. Shady on a big contract, Gore wouldn't have signed there if he didn't get some assurances, they drafted Singletary and TJ Yeldon is still there as well (and still only 25 years old). One of the deepest backfields in the NFL right now and very hard to predict who will get the snaps.

I can see them cutting both Shady and Yeldon. Shady is not the same player he was, albeit he's still got some mileage left. Don't disagree that its a crowded backfield, but it'd be great to see Wade getting more run outs. Then again we'd have to put up with Neil Reynolds constantly banging on about "Britain's Christian Wade..." Mixed blessing definitely

I can’t handle Neil
