NFL Thread 2014-2015

That Edelman tackle was important. But then again you never know with Gronk. He literally is a beast. One of the hardest to bring down in the NFL.

The Edelman tackle was fantastic. Love that dive for the end zone, right though the Colts defender

Mismatch for any defender in the league at the moment, could be the difference in a close game.

So RG3 has effectively said its not his fault that he played badly because his teammates were poor.

I cant shake the feeling that this guy is just too whingy and needy to lead a team. Gruden has now come out and listed all of the mistakes RG3 made in the game, to make a point.

What do people make of all this?

RG III was always no more than a hype. He is not a pocket passer. If you expect him to do that, then he will fail miserably. He needs to be allowed to move around but then he will injured more often due to players tackling him. He will not make it in the NFL.

Pocket passer or not, you need to be able to inspire people to follow you. By the sounds of it a number of people in the dressing room prefer Cousins at QB.

It may seem harsh here but it does send out a good message to the rest of the players, of course that is only true if the NFL doesn't change it's stance the next time something like this happens.

But it doesn't quite mesh with players getting a slap on the wrists for taking PEDs.

That is true. Cam Newton was like that two years ago. He kept whining but last year he buckled down and did really well. RG III just needs to get on with business. Great players make average players around them look better. You don't always have a great team around you. Just ask Tom Brady over the years. Also that McCoy kid did well against the Cowboys IN Dallas too. He deserves another shot.

If you had ever seen Colt McCoy play before, you would not agree with that. One good game doesn't change about 3 years worth of terrible ones

Well when he got a chance this year he did well. He deserves another shot. Would you keep playing RG III? Its not like he hasnt got enough chances to prove himself. Also he is quickly losing the respect and support of his teammates.

Tough night at times last night but pulled through to win thankfully. In a good position, still looking like the two games against the Bengals are going to be the key games.

Amazing that bottom team is over 500 while you have the Nfc South where Falcons are top with 4-6

What did you mean with the PEDs and slap on the wrist comment? Because thats kinda what it sounded like but I might have crossed wires.
What i meant was that the NFL has been forced to get serious about domestic abuse (and rightly so) but its punishments in other areas seem lax.

Apparently the Pats have resigned Blount. Blount force trauma returns! Good news if so, I like him and didn't want to see him go in the first place.

Its no short term deal either apparently.

Vereen and Ridley are both free agents in the off season right? I think we may end up re-signing Vereen, letting Ridley walk and White to be cut when this deal is done?

Just been confirmed by the Boston Globe now, 2 year deal.

To be honest NE seems to be the best place for him. He seems to have struggled without Belichick’s discipline this year.

Blount's a good pick up. Solid player, he and Gray can share the power running with Vereen in on the passing plays/3rd downs.

I think Vereen will be kept next season, he's the one who offers the dual threat of being able to catch as well as make runs. Unless they go with 4 backs, I think Ridley's the unfortunate one to miss out next year.

NY Jets at Buffalo Bills game might get cancelled this weekend. Large amount of snow in the area this week and travel could still be an issue. Plus with a travel ban right now crews can not get in to clear the stadium and surrounding grounds (parking lots) of snow.

The Bills will need to remove 220,000 TONS of snow from the stadium (if that is just in the stadium, imagine how much extra in all the surrounding parking lots)

Here is a picture of what the inside of the stadium looks like as of yesterday

That is a load of snow. Surely cancel the game unless it thaws considerably?

the main thing I guess is the travel restrictions and that they expect to get more snow by the end of the week. Of course when the melt comes that is going to cause a lot of flooding as some places have already gotten over 7ft of snow.

Neither team plays on Thanksgiving so if the travel restrictions are lifted by Monday or Tuesday they could play the game then. Provided they can get the stadium cleaned out.

I suppose another option is to move the game to a neutral site, providing the Bills can get out of Buffalo by Monday or Tuesday.

I'm half asleep, but I'm pretty sure the commentators just said that no Kansas WR has a TD this season?!

Raiders finally got the running game going. Our line is pretty weak still but i dont think MJD or Mcfadden has much left in the tank either.
