NFL Thread 2013-14

Niners will beat the Panthers.

Think the Niners are improving each game and find ways to win games.

Next week is going to be extremely tough, but think we are well prepared having beaten GB at Lambeau in crazy conditions, and then the Panthers at their home.

Conversely, while the Seahawks has been as good as ever, their offense has been struggling in recent weeks...

Good effort from San Diego but we will have Brady-Manning next week

San Diego's defense couldn't give Rivers one more chance. Good effort from the Chargers.

I think Brady will win the duel. Making New England unbearable for the rest of the month.

Thought Brook's attempted sack was great!

The ball was on the 1 yard line - so well worth taking the chance of anticipating the snap count. The penalty was encroachment, so was only 5 yards (since they were on the 1 already is was actually 1/2 a yard) and it doesn't give them a new set of downs - they just replayed the down.

He successfully did this in college:

Should be tried more often!!

Suarez quality flop by Newton trying to draw the personal foul.

Looks like Vikings are closing in on Bengals DC Mike Zimmer as their new head coach. That would be awesome. Our defense needs major help, and I think Zimmer is the man to coach them up. Excited to see who he chooses as coordinators though. We need a lot of help offensively as well.

Its crazy. I wish they'd extend it somehow!

They're looking at increasing the number of games to 18 and adding 2 more teams to the playoffs, possibly for next season. I personally hope they keep the playoff structure the same.

what's it like getting NFL tickets - I'm thinking of going to new York next Dec and may take a giants or Jets game in. although not my favorites I'd like to see a game. Are they easy to get close to game & r they expensive?

Seattle - New England final for me. think Seattle have been excellent.New England can be sublime or pure crap. think they'll overcome Denver

I went to a pre season game in 2012 in Oakland and it was 9 dollars for 150 dollar seats a week before the game on a ticket exchange website

I think Seattle have been excellent, but their offense (in particular their passing) has gone downhill over the past 5 weeks. Still an excellent defense, dangerous running game (Lynch always does well against the Niners ) and of course that home field advantage. In saying that, I think the Niners are rolling and think they will get the win.

I agree that the Pats can be sublime or not so sublime. Their recent good play has been, surprisingly, on the back of their running game. Given how Manning is playing, I think the Pats could find it difficult to keep pace with them.

I do think that either NFC team will beat either AFC team in the Super Bowl.

thanks Van but your reply although honest gives me Fcuk all to go on unless Christmas moves to July.

So what are people's predictions?

Mine is Niners to beat the Broncos.

Predicted the Seahawks would beat Denver before the season began and I'll stick with that. If Gronk was fit I'd like the Pats chances to beat Denver but don't see it happening without him.

I like the play off structure too. I heard rumours they were decreasing the number of pre-season games to 2 and adding the regular season games to 18. It would be awesome!

18 is too many for me no need for the Super Bowl to end up getting played in the middle or late February. Now if they are smart and start the season earlier then that might not be so bad. What will be interesting to see is what effect those two extra meaningful games have on the amount of players lost to injuries and the length in terms of seasons played for a players career. NFL careers are very short on average to begin with, those two extra meaningful games could cost the players money in the long run.

Manning is giving the valedictorian speech at my university later this year during my graduation. It'd e cool story if he does it in a year he won the SB. Come on Broncos(puke)

Are they changing to 18 games or is it still just in discussion?

Doesn't mean he's not got the potential to be a decent number 1 pick. Might not be this forum I've seen people apoplectic at his chance of being that.

I don't watch college football so I don't know how good he is, but I've heard of his antics. Seems a bit of a crazy guy.

I don't think he is anywhere near as good as Bridgewater. His arm isn't that strong. He relies on being faster than all defensive ends and outside linebackers, something that won't be true in the NFL. He was bailed out numerous times by Mike Evans winning jump balls. He makes a lot of bad decisions. I mean, look at this.

You can get it from Ticketmaster website Baz. If you come over here at regular season games, Giants tickets are costlier than Jets ticket although they play in the same stadium. The Stadium actually is in Meadowlands NJ, but the commute should be easy. I've got tickets to Giants game at 150 dollars, so you can use that as a benchmark. I'll be happy to book tickets for you if you want.

I think Denver takes New England, New England has over acheived this year but the magic is about to run out. and Seattle will get by San Francisco thanks to the homefield advantage they have.

In the Super Bowl, a massive blizzard will hit giving the Broncos a big advantage over Seattle. In a game that most of us will not see due to white out conditions preventing the cameras from picking up any action Peyton Manning will rush for 273 yds to lead the Broncos to victory. Yes I said rush, of course nobody will be able to varify these stats, but it will be Peyton's story and he's sticking to it.

Fixed, Peyton "fecking" Manning does things in his own damn time.
