NFL Thread 2013-14

Hernandez, according to most recent reports, is screwed. If he was involved, I hope he gets a long prison sentence and not a sweetheart deal like Ray Lewis.

Hernandez looks like he is fecked, Gronk with another back surgery, Welker gone...feck sake so much for having one of the better offensive lines in the NFL, its quickly starting to fall apart into tiny pieces.

Warrant issued to arrest Hernandez for obstruction of justice. He's fecked.

Lets just pray that Gronk makes a miracle recovery to be ready for the start of the season.

Hernandez has been arrested, taken away in handcuffs and will be charged. Again, this doesn't prove he's guilty but it does not look good at all for him.

Tebow time. I was actually in Boston at the weekend and spent all day trying to get a cheap Hernandez Patriots jersey. Couldn't find one. I figured once I got back to the UK nobody would know who he was anyway

ESPN is reporting that Hernandez has been released from the Patriots.

So that's Walker, Hernandez and Gronk out of the team, for one reason or another. But then, Tebow...

Brady is gonna have to turn chicken shit into chicken salad next year. Amendola is good, but not Welker and injury prone. Lloyd has to come back now surely?

Does the quickness of the release suggest its a possible murder charge?

Well this has completely fecked up our season.

It's up on the Patriots site too.

Wow, Lloyd cut, Woodhead off, Welker off, Gronk injured, Edelman possibly injured, Hernandez fecked. Could be a rough, rough year for Brady and co.

Probably him or Branch will return for the millionth time.

Not sure how to quote on this new site. Annoying. But in answer to Earthquake, its probably gonna be very rough indeed, but it could also be the season that Brady cements himself as the best ever if he drags them deep into the playoffs

But right now I'd imagine he's currently like this.

Tebow's gonna catch the winning pass in the SuperBowl and Skip Bayless will explode on TV.

Kraft & his advisers obviously know Hernandez is fecked then. They wouldn't release him if there was any chance he'd be exonerated.

As for Tebow: he might make it as a power runner/fb-type, but I'd be very surprised if he ends up as a TE. I can see the Pats using a combination of Fells, Ballard & Homanawanooey or whatever his name is...and praying to God that Amendola stays fit and at least one of the rookie wide receivers are useful.

Hahahahahaha, I don't doubt that's exactly what he's like at the moment. "Shoulda kept the old contract..."

I guess "Dobson the big STRONG RECIEVER!!!" will have to step the feck up.

Definitely.

One other thing, what are the financial ramifications of all this shit? Will the Pats still have to cough up any guaranteed money for Hernandez?

Not sure how accurate this is, but apparently $16 million is guaranteed:

In August of 2012, Hernandez signed a five-year, $40 million extension, with $16 million guaranteed (he already received the bulk of it as a signing bonus). But oddly, the contract did not contain the usual "failure to perform" clause—meaning that the Patriots could still be on the hook for most of the remaining guaranteed money, even if Hernandez is out of football or in prison.

We are fecked, we are completely fecked. However thoughts with the family of the fella who was killed. So sad, RIP.

Four fellas leave in a car, three come back and the fourth is shot dead. They're all as good as guilty.

One of the non-gunmen will likely get off with manslaughter for giving evidence on the other two, but they're all murderers. Surely Hernandez won't be the one offered the deal even if he didn't pull the trigger.

Odin knew something was up.....sent text messages indicating he was with "NFL"..."Just so you know"....that second text says a lot.

Lawyers say it's all circumstantial evidence and a flimsy case, but they don't lock someone up with no bail on a flimsy case, especially not someone rich and famous.

They lock up and remand bail because he's a flight risk. Anyone with that much money is a flight risk.
