NFL 2025 | To Tag or not to Tag?

Nah, just go back to pre-2005 when no offensive player could be aided by his teammate.
Even more recent with college ball, right? The original ‘Bush Push’ predated both changes I believe.

There are rules about blocking near the LOS for passes; just apply a similar concept to run block…errr…I guess ‘pushing’ instead in reverse sort of.

I would be in favour of just removing pushing all together from any play then. That's just easier to implement.

What are the Rams gonna do at QB if Stafford leaves? He’s by far a better option than say, Rodgers at this point

What draft capital have they got? They still skint in that regard?

Jesus thank feck for that.

They should do similar with spotting the ball. Always struck me as wild they’ll bring the chains out to measure but they’ve no idea how accurate the starting spot was.

When you think about it, it’s farcical that that wasn’t a thing already.
It's like they've done VAR backwards. Goal line technology being the last bit of technology years later

Am I missing something? The refs will still spot the ball so all this does is stop a bit of time wasting when they have to get the chains out.

Edit: nevermind. I'm missing something.

Chiefs are reportedly going to use the franchise tag on All-Pro guard Trey Smith. The tag will be $23m and the year's salary is higher than what he can command in the open market because the franchise tag is for O-linemen and not just the guard position which is paid on average much less than the tackles. Frankly I'd be fine with trading him for a 2nd or 3rd rounder because we are already paying a ridiculous amount on our average o-line and a guard is far easier to replace than tackles. Plus it could be that Kingsley and Morris who have failed at LT are more effective in that position. If we are to spend a lot of our cap on an o-lineman this year I'd like it to be a vet LT.

Agreed. They're definitely just guessing a lot of the time, and when you see the replays of certain plays, so many ball spots are just way off.

How does Hawk-Eye work under a pile of bodies?
A chip is insterted inside the ball and the refs will have a watch on specifically for this. It will be similar to how it is here when ball crosses the line, the refs hawkeye watch vibrates saying goal.

TBH I'm surprised how this has only just been implemented now and wasn't something that had been set up before or even just tested before.

Anybody who was a ST holder here in London?
Basically they've stopped ST for the Tottenham games
Thanks for helping spread the game, now F off as we want one match day trippers who will spend more ...

So they’ve just denied you the availability of tickets for those games?

@RoadTrip has been a London ST holder for years.

They've basically said ST no longer exists.
And there will be a pre sale now to get tickets anywhere in stadium
Sucks as I had good seats and have been ST holder for wembley, Twickenham game and Spurs games.
Prices have been going up, matches have been poor, so this kinda makes my mind up not to go to these anymore.

That’s ridiculous, but not surprising from the assholes running things, sadly.

Disappointing to see pretty much anyone who's a lock to go in the 1st round skipping the combine drills.
The trend will only continue. No real incentive for them to do the drills, especially the 40, as they can run on their home track, etc. during their respective pro days.

Just read the email also

Massive kick in the teeth. But agree about prices and quality of the games, in some ways it’s probably not the end of the world.

Question is at what point do they stop giving access to a presale window and, if you don’t buy for one year does it prevent access in future years

The way the email is worded, it specifically says 2025. So I suspect it’s just for this year anyway

They’ll quickly realise that selling tickets to shit games won’t be so easy though. Of that I’m convinced.

First big trade of the off season New
Deebo to the Commanders in exchange for a 5th.

Was hoping for a 3rd or 4th but a 5th is probably fair value. Can still probably have 2-3 big games next season but overall he's done as a top level player. Super exciting player to watch in his prime though. The way he broke through tackles was crazy. That type of football takes its toll though.
