NFL 2024 | Can the Bengals pull it off?

He’s short!
They could very easily have gotten him a few more yards if they didn’t feck up their clock

That was a very quick review of the catch there. Looked a bit iffy.

I know they don’t give a shit and it’s all done for tv, but that’s a poor way to schedule it. Ravens win would mean the Steelers don’t give a shit against the Bengals.

Nah, the NFL nailed it. A motivated Ravens team trying to clinch their division won't lose to a Browns team at home with DTR at QB. The two most intriguing and playoff-impacting games will rightfully be highlighted on Sat night (Bengals vs Steelers) and Sun night (Vikings vs Lions)

@P-Ro surely the Chiefs will rest the starters right? No need for anyone to get hurt.
I expect Mahomes, Kelce, Jones (recovering from injury anyway) and the entire interior offensive line not to play. McDuffie, Worthy, Karlaftis, Tranquill, Taylor, Bolton, Reid, Hunt and D Hop will most likely get limited or no snaps.

I reckon It will be: Carson Wentz throwing to Hollywood Brown, Juju Smith Schuster, Hardman & Noah Gray. Perine as the RB with Pacheco taking some snaps. Rookies and backups in the o-line. DEs will be FAU and Uche. LBs Cochrane & Chenal. Normal DB room but without McDuffie & Reid.

Still will be competitive because they are still running an Andy Reid offense and a Spagnuolo defense.

Sounds good. See you in the playoffs then

Are the bengals still able to get in? Thought they were dead with the miami win

As an added bonus, a Bengals win over the Steelers plus if we take care of business against the Raiders means the Chargers go to Houston as the #5 seed instead of likely Baltimore as the #6.

The point is more that if the games were on at the same time, the Steelers would have to play starters just incase the Browns make it competitive. Ravens win earlier and the Steelers probably pull their starters, which you could argue is no different to Kansas, but there’s nothing the NFL can do about that.

The fairer way would be Steelers v Bengals first, then Ravens v Browns after. That way no other teams are impacted by starters getting rested. I understand why they want the Bengals game in the prime time slot though.

I think what some of you are missing is that the Steelers will play their starters, regardless of the Ravens result. If the Steelers lose to Cinci and the Chargers beat the Raiders then the Steelers will be the 6th seed (as @Man of Leisure pointed out) and have to play a fecking tough Wildcard game versus the Ravens instead of the Texans.

Jets ain't beating nobody.
Same could/would have been said about the Giants before their game against the Colts yesterday. Any given Sunday.

If Tua is still out next week, I can see a potential upset. As shitty as they've been, these guys are still pros and no way Rodgers will want to possibly end his career going out like a punk bitch.

Yeah that makes sense actually, not sure why I thought the chargers were a game behind. In that case I have no issues, almost like they know what they’re doing.

Imagine that it is May 2024 and someone tells you that Sam Darnold is going to be part of MVP conversations in January 2025.

Imagine a little before that watching he and Baker languishing in Carolina purgatory and someone tells you they’ll both be having amongst the best QB seasons in the league in 2024.

Who’s next: Fields…Zach Wilson…?

Daniel Jones leading the Vikings to a 17-0 season in 2025.

Dan Campbell playing all his starters against the niners in a bit of a meaningless game. Don't really understand his thinking there. Win or lose tonight, the number 1 seed is decided with their game against the Vikings. The only way winning helps them tonight is if their game against the Vikings finishes in a tie.

Nice opening drive. Don’t expect to win tonight but don’t want to be embarrassed and great for Pearsall to get another TD.

I don’t know if anything will come of it but that hit to the head of LaPorta is what would make me squeamish being a fan of a team playing to win in a meaningless game.

But...errrr...don't you want to save that play for the playoffs?

Really happy with Purdy and the offensive looks we’re getting all things considered. No defence tonight it seems. At least it’s fun
