NFL 2024 | Lions vs Vikings - Winner takes all

They won't give a toss for either. Rest Kermit and Mr Swift
The players that will play are dying to impress and they will want to kill the Broncos chances of a playoff run. It's going to be a dog fight.

It was 2nd down and the Broncos had 2 time outs after the injury TO from Cincinnati with 90 seconds left. Had the Bengals decided to kneel twice and kicked the field goal they would have given the Broncos about 45 seconds to respond with either a field goal or a touchdown with no TOs remaining. You opt for scoring a TD in that scenario on the basis that if you opted for the field goal the Broncos could have gotten within field goal range in just one play and you staring at the real possibility of a loss in regulation. In the scenario where you score a TD the worst case scenario is that you go to overtime unless they go for 2.
Not that it matters but the Broncos only had one time out remaining after the injury not two. The Bengals could have burnt it by kneeling on the 2nd down that they scored the TD on. Would leave about 90 seconds on the clock so they could have left Denver with time for one play after kicking a field goal by my maths.

Annoyingly I can't rewind to see it again. I'll take your word for it though, I'm 6 beers deep.

Someone at the pub showed me the missed Bengals FG and told me the Broncos had won. I come home and the first thing I see in my Twitter feed is a Higgins walkoff TD

I hope the Bengals make the playoffs. Burrow is just so good.

Think both of us were wrong anyway
Having looked back at it, everything I said regarding the situational football was on point but the 2 TOs was wrong. The Broncos would have got the ball back with 45 seconds remaining with a FG. It was the right decision to go for the TD.

Yeah I know. I thought there was no need for them to even give Denver the ball back at all. They called passing plays twice and stopped the clock both times when they were already in FG range. Maybe they trusted Burrow more than the kicker, which is probably fair enough.

There’s a lot of strange stuff to dissect in that game, which is probably unsurprising for two teams struggling to secure the last wildcard spot.

Given how the Bengals season has gone it's obvious the Chiefs are going to beat Broncos while they lose to the Steelers in heartbreaking fashion.

Anyone else having sync issues with redzone via Sky? Luckily the audio is behind the video, not the other way around.

I am so amused by the Giants throwing away the number 1 pick
I am not amused.

Eagles fans have been talking about throwing the game next week against the Giants to ruin the top pick but no one thought that giants could win today

I shouldn't have to support United and the Giants. It's just too much to process for one man.
Yeah just the gazillion PL titles and two Super Bowls in the last 20 years… :wenger:

That Vikings vs Packers matchup looks so tasty. Two great teams, fighting it out for the division and conference. Hopefully it lives up to the expectations.

There have been some incredibly harsh taunting calls lately and seeing them not flag BTJ for mocking the CB for being short makes it even worse.

What a terrible play call on that 2 point conversion by the Colts. Tried to be way too cute by setting up for the lateral after the catch...those plays have such a low conversion rate when you're at the 2 yard line.

Bet Giants fans are delighted right now.

It’s going to take something special for me to stay awake after last night’s game.

4 teams have made it to 40 points this week already. And then there was the Seahawks-Bears game

Looks like the Giants defense has got the message.

Giants winning to lose the 1.01 but oh wait, the Raiders and Jags are also winning
