NFL 2023

I'm not a fan of that sort of tackle. While it can be a freak result, like this one above, and most incidents do not lead to injury, it's still a dangerous play to place one's entire body weight on the backside of another player. The league (and lower levels, subsequently) rightfully outlawed the horse collar and targeting plays, this sort of tackle should be reviewed but not sure how to avoid certain tackles during the speed of a play. It's much easier to avoid hitting a player in the neck/head area and to not grab a neck collar, but to not try to tackle an opponent at angles would probably be near impossible to eliminate. It would also give yet another significant advantage to the offense (and return man).

Yep. As you & the doc said, it should be outlawed imo but it's a much more subjective tackle than a horse collar or targeting, it's not as clear cut & has varying degrees of severity. To get rid of it would hamstring the defense considerably.

I agree on all counts - I cannot see how you can police that. The NFL already has a hard time policing many more black and white topics!

Kid's judgement might be a little suspect...

Supposedly his girlfriend didn't scan one of various items at self checkout, not him, but he picked up the bag. Allegedly it didn't escalate beyond store security. Seems like as much of a nothing story as De Gea walking off with a donut, but the media seems desperate for this kid to feck up.

He's got a sketchy past but he's seemingly been a good lad in Philly, so far.

Good to see.

What's the deal with the Seahawks being evens to beat the Rams? Those odds seem ridiculously good considering they're actually a decent football team and the Rams aren't. No significant injuries for Seattle either. Maybe it's just because they are playing away and the Rams are coming off a bye?

They beat us week 1 in Seattle, have typically had our number since McVay got there and have Stafford back healthy. Also, we have a 41 year old Jason Peters getting significant snaps. I'm not optimistic.

Plus, it's just the NFC West way - Rams beat the Seahawks, Seahawks beat the Niners and the Niners beat the Rams. Also the Cardinals are there.

That was a sick throw by Murray. Reminds me of those deep balls Wilson used to do at Seattle.

Must be nice to have a QB so good that you’re not fazed by literally any level of adversity.

He looked decent last week.
I’ve just never rated him.

Stroud is angling towards beating his two week old rookie passing record.

e - Stroud took a pop & left the game. Back in now, good to see.

It'll never get old seeing Bryce Young getting chased by monstrously large D linemen

Pickett did well there, lost his helmet and still fought through for the 1st down. Cleveland defence tackling the loose helmet

Red Zone ignoring the Cowboys Panthers today. Wonderful

Quiet in here today Goff is absolutely murdering my bet everything else all going to plan too

Did I hear that right? JFK was the US president the last time the Lions were 8-2?

RZ comes truly alive when all the early games are down to the final 4 minutes. Just a beautiful glorious masterpiece.
