The rest of the season is going to be so much fun, especially in the AFC. In the NFC all but one division are already settled but the fight for the top spot in the West between the Rams and Cards is going to be tense.

AFC though... 4 teams with a 5-2 record with the Chargers only half a game behind after their bye. And that's discounting the Chiefs who will almost certainly still be in the mix, since they can't keep turning the ball over that much on offense forever. Browns also a dangerous outsider once they get healthier again (had a long week this week so should already be better in Week 8).

Bengals are the most surprising to me though, didn't think they were for real in the beginning of the season but man... Defense is a lot better than most give them credit for and Burrow is just balling out. Think they'd be even better if they use Mixon as an all-down back instead of mixing in Perine, he's just a way superior back and can easily catch the football well enough to warrant a lot more 3th down work than he's currently getting.

Seriously impressive. Burrow for MVP, Chase for OROY?

The Bengals are gaining momentum as the season wears on, which is impressive to watch as it happens. I suspect Burrow to Chase is going to be linking up for their entire college and pro careers from national championships to Super Bowls, and all the way to Canton.

Burrow won’t sniff MVP…he might give Dak a run for his money at Comeback Player of the Year though.
Can't see why not if he leads the Bengals to best record in the AFC (or the league, although unlikely).

Who are the frontrunners at this point? Kyler hasn't been that outstanding after his hot start the first 2-3 weeks. Stafford is the result of McVay and a stacked Rams roster. Derrick Henry is still a RB. Rodgers and Brady are in the conversation as is Josh Allen, but everything is still possible imo. Even Derek friggin Car has the Raiders at 5-2 while on pace to break the all-time passing yards record (with a little help of the extra game).

He’s not even the hottest name on his own middle-of-the-road offense. If he does that well and Dak gets MVP they’ll give him CPOTY as a consolation prize - that’s sportswriters’ logic.

His odds are around +4000 last I checked. Murray, Allen, Dak, Brady, and Stafford are all in the hundreds. And I believe it is an empty record these days but if Henry breaks the rushing record and the Titans finish well he’ll get it…unless the Cards are undefeated or 16-1 or something like that.

Wow. That’s an incredibly bold prediction on the basis of a handful of games. One thing that is certain about this league is that one should never project even a couple of years ahead let alone 10 or 20. It’s just impossible to know what will happen, probably much more so than in any other sport.

I don't see why someone like Dak is more likely to win MVP than Burrow at this point, I'm not on board with that opinion at all.

Bengals are 7th in scoring so far this season (and have first place in one of the, if not the most competitive division), hardly "middle of the road".

I don't see any reason why Burrow couldn't win MVP if he leads the Bengals to say a 14-3 or 13-4 record and he keeps on playing like he does. Not saying he should be regarded as a favourite or anything but he's definitely on the outside looking in.

Because Dak plays for the Cowboys and Burrow plays for the Bengals :D

There is also their connection at LSU, which had the most explosive offense, perhaps ever, in college football two years ago. Burrow now also has Higgins to work with as the Justin Jefferson replacement.

13th in average yards, near the Chargers/Colts/Jags/Pats, could be considered middle of the road. Nowhere near Dallas, hence Dak’s name ahead of his. Also it is a balanced offense that equally relies on the running game.

It’s not beyond the realm of possibility, but like I said there are strong intangibles working against it in terms of how it’s voted on.

College and Pro are like night and day

Davante Adams on the Covid list. Must test negative tomorrow and Wednesday in order to play TNF (he’s vaxxed), so almost certainly out. Bummer.

We should have gone with left-handed Wilson.

Well, he's honest at least...

Kamara is just the single best player to watch in the league if the Saints use him correctly imo

Also never seen so many damn personal fouls in one game.

How good was the 2017 RB class? Just saw that on Wikipedia.

Fournette, CMC, Cook, Mixon, Kamara, Hunt, Conner, Aaron Jones, and Ekeler as a UDFA.

DC also got it right? There is a good chance others will have it too, as it’s already in two different units.
Yeah, finally our D has a good Red Zone performance in years and DC is out next game!

Cards will always be tough, but without Barry and Adams it's looks very dicey for the Pack.

I'm concerned about the wear on his body if we keep using him this way. He's taken some big hits. Need MT back asap to be honest, or find a way to use Callaway more. He's proven to be very good.

What exactly does he mean with the Sean Payton and Andy Reid comment?
Basically…‘Why y’all asking me this stupid shit but not those guys?’ Edit: As if they’re implying there’s some difference in job security for whatever reason…

It was a big overreaction because the question simply stemmed from a comment by a USC alum, Carson Palmer, on a sports talk show.

Bizarre overreaction from Tomlin. The other two are obviously not being asked about because of Palmer's comments about Tomlin. Par for the course when you're frustrated that your team is in last place.

I get where Tomlin is coming from but I also watched Palmer's comment to Dan Patrick and it was totally more like "maybe we can convince Tomlin to come to USC rather than oversee a rebuild with the Steelers as we badly want him" instead of "he's on the hot seat and we just need someone to come in".

Last nights game was probably the worst game I've seen in the NFL. Even the Dolphin/Jaguars game was better than it. And both those teams are miles behind the Seahawks/Saints.

Packers place Lazard on Covid list. Between him and Adams they have nearly 50% of the receptions!

With Jaire and Z-Smith already out, we miss out Top 2 WRs, Best Rusher, Best CB.

Looks like a Cards win.

The loss of some personnel may make the Packers more unpredictable and harder to game plan for so it can cut both ways. Ultimately, it's only a regular season game and doesn't matter especially to the Packers who will win their division regardless and are geared towards playoff success. The Cards may want to win this more to prove to themselves they belong but even a loss may help the team improve weak areas in the second part of the season.

Considering Packers, Cardinals and Bucs are the most likely NFC championship candidates, this has playoff impact too.

The only thing it may impact is seeding but at the end of the day all of these teams will have to play each other again in the playoffs anyways to get to the super bowl. Winning now and losing in the playoffs is worse than the alternative.

The NFL covering up another scandal. Clearly keeping this from the public and inevitable backlash. Would be quite messy to attempt to force Snyder to sell.

NFL's investigation into Washington Football Team won't be released, commissioner Roger Goodell says amid pressure

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell doubled down Tuesday on the league's decision not to make public the results of its investigation into the workplace culture at the Washington Football Team, saying the anonymity of the people who cooperated with the investigation was too high a priority to allow the league to do so.
