NFL 2020

You need to find out scoring type definitely. If your knowledge of NFL is pretty decent then you'll probably be ok. Try to do a couple of mock drafts on ESPN or other sites, and you should get a pretty good picture of who goes where

So the rules are as follows:

Superflex, PPR keeping defence and kicker.

Winner of superbowl gets £100, Winner of league gets £70, Winner of highest weekly score points gets £30.

So in that case a superflex means that I should not target RB's first and go for 2 QB's?

Most definitely not. Read up on Superflex draft strategies but imo there are only 3-4 QBs worth going in the first round, and not over the top 5 RBs which are still more valuable. So depending on whether you pick at the beginning or the end a QB might make sense but it leaves you with a gaping hole in the rest of your roster if you do.

Don’t pick your second QB too early and don’t panic and pick him after a run on QBs has passed. It’s the most replaceable position in fantasy and there is enough value to be had between QB18-QB24. It also depends on how many teams are in your league.

Cheers.

We have 10 people in our league. Regarding second QB what do you mean by don't panic and pick after a run has passed?

So could I potentially go RB, RB, QB WR, WR, RB, TE, and maybe leave the second QB like quite late? I know that sounds really amatuerish, just looking for ideas.

Florio says they might could use this as cause to cut him now and avoid his $10M guaranteed. Cowboys fans are licking their chops...

Wouldn't say no and it is a hell of a nice way to get the safety we need.

However I do believe it when they say they are freeing up cap space specifically for next season and not for Thomas this season

Cowboys, 49ers and Texans were linked by Rapoport earlier, Cowboys are the favourites apparently.

Don’t get this by the Ravens. It was just one altercation by a highly competitive guy, who’s still one of best safeties in the league. Fine him and move on, you have a top 3 secondary in the league.

Think it’s Harbaugh setting a marker that he’s not gonna stand for any bullshit. No matter how good a player you are, step out of line & you’ll be gone.

After adding Calais and drafting who I think is a perfect fit to fill the hole at LB, they were looking like a team that could be really special.

Still might be, I guess.

There were also suggestions that his teammates told the team they wanted him gone.

Who says that it was just one altercation and not the straw the broke the camel's back? We don't know everything that happens behind the scenes.

You’ll know better but I don’t think he misbehaved at all during his time at the Seahawks? Might be he wanted out to Dallas himself and consciously created this situation himself?

His contract was very heavy upfront, think he earned $20m+ last season and he’ll have a new team soon enough, he probably won’t lose a night’s sleep over this.

Maybe they wanted to move on from his $10m and this is just convenient for them

There were a few dramas towards the end, he told Dallas to come and get him if the Seahawks ever let him go, the middle finger to Carroll after he broke his leg again (plus the holdout and salary demands that led up to that) and the time he was critical of Wagner for playing through an injury and then got annoyed at a Ravens teammate for not playing through an injury. The way it all seemed to increase in the last few years with the Seahawks and then continued to escalate in Baltimore makes me doubt the current situation was a ploy to get to Dallas though, think it's just his ego spiralling out of control.

But yeah, doubt he'll be too upset with this as long as he doesn't lose too much money, don't know how much Baltimore can claw back by cutting him for detrimental conduct.

Zrebiec is a very reliable Baltimore beat reporter and I don't not believe the Ravens would have done this if it was just one fight, they have fights every year in training camp. Hell Chuck Clark was in fights previously from what I recall, if it was just that he'd be the one to go.

Let's not forget this guy flipped the bird at the Seattle sideline. There was the incident earlier this year. Something seems off with him. I doubt sharing a practice play endeared him to Harbaugh either. Harbs is known as a tougher coach, and some ex-players don't speak too highly of him (well, one really, Bernard Pollard). Seems to me they have cause and want to move on. I'm fine with that.

If he ends up in Dallas who coincidentally had already started freeing up cap space then yes i would say there were some shady things going on behind the scenes and he did what he could to get released and go to the team he supports

Probably will be a wise decision in the end, to preserve the locker room chemistry. Hopefully DeShonn Elliott can step up if he can avoid injuries. Think this is a clear message that the likes of AB aren't wanted either.

There are only 2 Redzone-less Sundays left this year. That thought alone is just absolutely glorious. Hansen, gimme the octobox every. single. sunday please.

Can't wait for football again, but I'm not a Redzone guy at all. Other than sometimes checking what else is happening during timeouts, I'm sticking to one early game, one middle, then SNF.

I'm a RedZone guy, it's the easiest and most entertaining way to catch up with everything that's happening around the league. But I also get that it's not for everyone, I'd hate the concept if it was for football for example - but much more dull to watch just one NFL game with all the interruptions, especially if it's one-sided from the start.

I usually watch RedZone from 7pm till 2am, and then watch the most entertaining games with the 40min game recap on Monday night, that's the whole game minus all the commercials and stuff.

I used to be you but now I can't imagine Sunday afternoon without Redzone. It's a great way to follow all the games as they show so many plays, and not just the BIG ones.

Not to mention you see your fantasy team getting shredded in real time and your bets/picks failing at the very end - the meltdown is very real time too

What can I say, american football has so little natural flow that I'm gonna savour what little there is.
 I jest

Generally though until the playoffs I can’t hack watching a single game in real time unless it’s the Broncos.

Red zone is the single greatest thing in life . There is literally nothing better

"Who's ready for seven hours of commercial free football" and my favourite " it's the witching hour"

I remember total meltdowns last season when Sky would insist on showing NBA repeats that would overrun and delay redzone. Those were nightmare moments

Hey guys, would a draft autopick on the offficial nfl.com website adjust for superflex?

Not sure, auto-drafting gets done based on pre-draft rankings from the site, but I don't think they adapt them to your league settings. Most rankings are done half-PPR or PPR anyway so I wouldn't count on it.

In any case, do not autodraft. Watch a few YouTube videos of the top 50 ranked players (or top 20 ranked players from each position (QB,RB,WR,TE)) and then try to draft the players you like watching. It will make your fantasy season much more enjoyable. Even if you've reached for a few players in order to get them, I wouldn't worry too much about that in your first year. The rankings are most important in the first few rounds but if you like the WR48 over the WR35 in the 10th round, you don't do anything wrong with picking the lesser ranked player. In the first three rounds, keep ADP in mind and try to stick to it (or close to it anyway).

- Do not account for bye weeks
- Drafting two skill players from the same team is not necessarily a bad thing but make sure you get some variety to your team
- Don't follow runs (e.g. don't pick a QB just because the 4 picks before you were QBs)
- Read, read, read about draft strategies

Cheers mate, we doing a wheel spin to decide picks. If I get toward the top is there any particular order I should aim for? or just go for 1st?

I love red zone but I’m in the few who don’t watch it. I watch all the games condensed hence don’t watch it. Gotta make the most out of my game pass subscription!

RedZone is the greatest thing ever invented. Cannot wait for OCTOBOX to return!

Dolphins are having fans in attendance for their opening game of the season which is week 2

Isn't Florida one of the most fecked states for Covid cases?

I think it's a bit ridiculous that the NFL isn't implementing a rule for all teams. Teams who don't give a feck about their fans' health get the home crowd advantage.

Yes, and also one in the most denial about it generally speaking. Some cities like Cleveland aren’t even allowing tailgating outside.

Maybe Goodell doesn’t want to go toe to toe with owners like ol’ Jerry over a blanket rule on attendance.

Love the offseason hype some players are always getting after some flashy catches in training camp. But McLaurin could maybe make the second year leap to superstar status this year. Only thing what's making me doubt it is Haskins and the lack of points they will put on the board.

Crazy to think he came into the league as a special teams player just last season (I think).
