That’s a nasty hit. With all the stuff around player safety, I think he should be suspended for a couple of games.

Rio is the only one calling Jay Cutler "his man". I doubt even the Dolphins receivers would be calling him that.

roflcutler. Miss him at Bears doing Cutler stuff.

Good win for Packers yesterday. Doing well without a true OL. Next week at Cowboys will be a tough one.

That hit on Tae was ugly. Should have been ejected. It took them a long time to throw a flag as it was.

So they spend money to buy the stuff & burn it because they disagree with other Americans exercising their fundamental rights in a peaceful manner?

I wonder how many of these geniuses (racist cnuts) actually understand the reason players are protesting & that there is nothing unpatriotic about it!!!

When White America sends their people to these merchandise burning ceremonies, they're not sending their best...

They don't understand it and no amount of explaining will help them understand it.

Trust me I know a few like this, and they do not get it all. The same types that see "Black Lives Matter" as meaning "Only Black Lives Matter"

Oh they will shout about freedom, but how dare anyone they disagree with/dislike/hate actually use those freedoms.

Why is it always Patriots fans? Not meaning to piss anyone off but Reddit's nfl sub always has Pats fans posting shit like this too.. Is New England prime Donald territory?

We drove to Maine the other week, passing through Vermont and New Hampshire on the way. New England is redneck as hell.

I recently got tangled up in a social media debate on this stuff. No one changes their mind and each is entrenched to his/her belief.

I was at one point called a racist because while explaining how black NFL players were treated in the 50s/60s I didn't mention Chinese, Mexicans, Irish, Polish, etc. Which had nothing to fecking do with my point yet was an attempt to ad hominem attack me, to flip the narrative. No one wants to see the ugliness within.

The final nail was my attempt to breakdown how the flag is the symbol, the vehicle for protestors to drive the message. Yet one rebuttal was, "No one is listening to you" and another was "I'm not reading that long post."

It's disappointing, it's maddening, it's pointless.

The reality is though that this is typical of so many debates online. In real life too but in particular online.

The fact is they aren't actually debates. Usually, it is someone trying to push an agenda. One of the reasons I like this thread, because whilst obviously you get bias for the team you support (expected), you can often genuinely have a good debate where people engage and actually listen to the opposing view points.

I guess that highly increases the chances of supporting Trump.

It really is disappointing as well as all of the above. From the outside it seems like a giant clusterfeck and I hate to see what it’s doing to the US.

The thing that's been in my mind is that actually, at micro-level, probably not a lot. Macro yes definitely.

The reality is the US is still very much segregated - not by race etc. but instead by beliefs and ideologies. You tend to get clusters of people with one view and clusters of the other but rarely are they in the same area.

I could be way wrong though.

Seriously though, how long do the Bears persist with Glennon? They aren't going anywhere this year and Trubisky is clearly the future so might as well get him experience whilst the games don't have much meaning ...

The only possible reason is that he really isn't ready and if they throw him in it could do more damage than good. But look at Goff. He had a disaster rookie season and seems to be able to come back. If you're gonna be elite, you would need to be able to handle that.

I think Trubitsky is starting next week.

Not this sport but kinda related with the latest kneel/stand/salute debate.

Following the end of Chelsea/City, NBC Sports aired a NASCAR race. I wasn't aware they do an invocation. What the feck?

You do seem to hear more about people looking at the politics of an area before choosing to live there.

Good old boys racing in the Bible Belt was how NASCAR got its start. Well by good old boys I mean a bunch of lawbreaking moonshine runners.

I just say...why aren't you pissed off at how disrespectful the Confed Flag being flown in this country is? After all, it is the flag that represents states that seceded from the US - the flag of actual traitors. A flag that sought to displace the Stars & Stripes and lastly a flag, troops bearing the Stars & Stripes fought to defeat and bring down.

Oh and how is a woman using the Stars and Stripes - in bikini form - to cover her ass and crotch respectful?

It usually elicits a response of silence, STFU or I'm not talking to you about this any more

 That's a great one, hadn't even thought of it like that.

Sky not showing the UK game?! No wonder SSN hardly had any buildup for it

Hopefully this is a better contest than the last game.
