Yep, definitely. A great position to be in since at least half the teams in the league could do well with a SB winner.

It will be interesting to see what he wants to do. He made a point of coming back to Philly knowing he would be a back up. Will this run be enough to make him feel "okay we can close that chapter now."? he's 29 so if he wants to start again he has to move while the demand is there for him.

At 29, he should be about to head into one of his final contracts so I'm sure he will want it to be a big one.

Foles' contract - has three voidable years which means he signed a five-year contract last spring masquerading as a two-year contract.

Biggest question for Philly - pay the roster bonus or not? Guess that depends on a few factors:
1) when the roster bonus is due could trigger a quicker action by management in regards to cap, just
2) how much cap space and what player(s) could that money be spread over, but
3) what if another team is willing to trade for the player?

Some team will probably see Foles as a probable answer, or perhaps a stopgap, and may make a costly mistake. What teams could be in the market for a starting caliber player that could go bellyup under the wrong system/supporting cast, or turn up the next Rich Gannon in the right system/supporting cast?

Arizona
Buffalo
Cleveland (figure they'll go for Cousins)
Denver
Houston (how long is Watson out; buys time)
Kansas City (insurance to Mahomes but probably doubtful)
Miami
Minnesota (that would be an interesting move)
NY Jets

So pinch of salt and all that, during his radio show Paul Allen received a text from what he considers to be a reliable source, that said that Cousin's priority is the Vikings.

Think the Eagles as the players and contracts stand now are at or over the 2018 Cap.

Minnesota would seem a less likely destination given that Bridgewater, Bradford, and Keenum there.

Arizona might be an option, but frankly if Arians goes, then Palmer will likely be out and Fitzgerald might retire since they all seem to be a bit of a package deal there. If that happens, then they are going to need a full rebuild that Foles alone wouldn't resolve.

Another option could be Pittsburgh since Ben is likely going to retire after 2018, so Foles could work his way in there.

I'm not a massive fan of Cousins but he'd be an improvement over what Minnesota currently has and would open up the vertical passing game. Keenum seems more likely a one-season wonder/career journeyman type.

None of them are under contract, the Vikings have Sloter for next season. Arians is already gone and he has been replaced by Wilks.

Big day is here!! Starting to get a little nervous.

Everyone knows that WRs aren’t that valuable
MVP award quite often isn't to do with straight up valuableness (if that's even a word). It's all about having a narrative, thought Brown might have had one. If it was based on actual valuableness, no non-qb could ever win the award.

Problem with WR's is that they get so few touches a game. Even though they are often important and/or spectacular touches it leads to them not being considered for MVP.

It's an imperfect process and part of the reason not to get hung up on who gets the award.

Tbh, non-QBs hardly ever do. The narrative has to be extraordinary really.

Shitting myself, just like last year, and every Pats Super Bowl before then.

My heart and blood pressure would greatly appreciate a blowout win. But with every Brady-Belichick Super Bowl, it's absolutely going to be a nail-biter.

LET'S GO!

Zach and Woodson will get in. NFL Hall of Fame voting is weird but eventually things work out (mostly).

Veterans committee can often correct the wrongs of voters but even that's still seen some worthy players not enshrined, the likes of Drew Pearson (better than Stallworth & Swann), Randy Gradishar, Roger Craig, Steve Atwater & Cliff Harris (both better than Dawkins), Jerry Kramer, etc.

Buzzing for it tonight. Got the Doritos and dips at the ready

Can't see how it can be better than last year's Superbowl as a Pats fan but who knows. Hope to see Brady and Belichick get number 6

There's a backlog caused in part by the NFL limiting how many can get in each year. And there will always be cases of players who many think should be in or shouldn't.

Can't wait for it. Would be amazing if Eagles can pull this off but it's the Patriots. One bad quarter and they will get the job done. Eagles need to be on top of theor game for the whole 60 minutes.

6pm and just had my first beer and excitement starting to build...day off tomorrow booked way in advance. Saved the BBC NFL stuff from last Saturday and Tuesday to watch after I put the kids to bed and then it's NFL NFL NFL. Not sure if I'll be able to stay up till 4am but will darn well try my best.

Loving the Craig call out!

I really believe he deserves to be there.

1st player to gain 1000 yards rushing and 1000 yards receiving in a season, elected to Pro Bowl as HB and FB (back when the Pro Bowl mattered!) and 3 TDs in Super Bowl XIX!

Don't mind a Pats blowout - it's always a teasing situation when things are close. And they always eek it out the bastards.

The last four Pats SBs have featured a crazy catch (or two) late in the 4th, mostly not in favor of the Pats. Tyree, Manningham, Kearse, Edelman. Wonder what's in store this game?

One would think the odds must swing in the Pats favor/against the Pats on a SB finally being decided by double digits (in the BB/TB era). Could this be the one? Perhaps the Eagles defense dominates, gets a defensive score/forces turnovers and runs wild ala Seattle vs Denver. Or perhaps the Pats force the overconfident Eagles into a few mistakes and Brady/Gronk get going to blow this game open.

Overconfident Eagles? Surely on the inside they know they are severe underdogs.

True on being underdogs but having sat through the past 36+ hrs of analysts, commentators, former players, etc. having discussed about speaking with Eagles players and "the confidence is amazing/great/fantastic" one gets the sense they may be playing the underdog story but come off as extremely confident, perhaps overconfident.

Thanks eboue, appreciate that pal
What food are you on tonight eboue, going to eat more or less of your share of wings tonight
