Did anyone else think Mariotta was the past line on that ricochet TD reception? (well the ball that is - the player was clearly past the line)

That big run by Henry late that sealed it, really think the Chiefs should have let him score there, get the ball back with 1:30 and down 8. This assuming Henry doesn't just fall down at the 1 of course. Kinda hard to do so as defensive players are reacting to instinct and all.

If there was a ref other than Hochuli on the field, nobody would have understood what just happened.

He built the Raiders team that made the SuperBowl and took admittedly an already good team and won the SuperBowl. So in effect, he played a pivotal role in the success of two SuperBowl attendees.

He did take Gannon from backup to all-pro, gotta give him that for sure. I do think he's a good football mind and QB whisperer.

That SB was garbage though - the Bucs offense was nothing special in that game. The defense knew the offensive schemes and play calls (thanks to Gruden) and were able to dominate the passing lanes, returning three picks for scores. The idiot Raiders coaching staff didn't even consider Gruden might know their offense since he installed it. Dungy got hosed by the Glazers, no doubt.

Ryan has been great tonight, resisted his usual tendency to throw a stupid INT aswell :D

You'd have to fancy Ryan against Foles in the next round too

Also Falcons really came out in playoff mode tonight, they've needed to win pretty much every week to end the season whereas the Rams got to rest starters and I think that has shown tonight.

Falcons will crush us next weekend, Eagles secondary is pretty bad and Falcons will feast on that

Don’t think so. One of his feet were clearly on the line I think.

Two real surprising results yesterday. Falcons have a real show now to go to the Championship game again given the Eagles have Foles.

It was close, but not much was made about it by the announcers and it was not challenged on that basis.

edit a quick look for the rule finds this but the version was from a few seasons ago

Item 1: Illegal Passes
. Any other forward pass by either team is illegal and
is a foul by the passing team,
including:
(a) A forward pass thrown when the passer is beyond th
e line of scrimmage.
Note: It is a forward pass from beyond the line of scri
mmage if the passer’s entire body and the ball are beyo
nd
the line of
scrimmage when the ball is released, whether the passe
r is airborne or touching the ground. The
penalty for a forward pass
thrown from beyond the line is enforced from the spot w
here the ball is
released.

Can't see any team posing a threat to the Pats, AFC or NFC.

Of course there are teams who pose a threat to the Pats, Pittsburgh came this close to beating them a few weeks ago and that's only the AFC. The Falcons can beat any team on their day and the Saints offense would cause the Pats D some serious problems imo. And the Vikings D can suffocate even Brady and his offense.

Vikings and Steelers are two teams I most certainly fear. The Vikings have a potent offence and a D more than capable of stifling Brady.
Can't see Vikes doing much, BB will eat up Keenum.
Steelers are more than capable of giving them a game before even considering the NFC.
Suppose that's what we need to hope for. BB has owned the Steelers recently though.

Disappointed the Bills made the play-offs, after the terrible decision to bin Taylor off mid season.
But don't mind if they win now they are there. Not sure they will, probably need to put some scoreboard pressure on Jags to do it

Packers hire Gutekunst as GM. No-one can have an informed opinion on this, but does mean Packers couldn't get Schneider.
