Eli holding back tears as he gives his locker room interview. I mean I understand he sucks but whats the point in replacing him at this point in the season?

compare genos stats to this point with brees at the same point in his career
Yh so Brees was bad at the start of his career but we've seen Geno play. He's awful. If Eli is not the answer, Geno is like answering a multiple choice question with "false".

Benching Eli makes no sense.

On the list of causes for their position this year he's nowhere near the top end.

Such a disgrace, guy won two superbowls for them. Eli deserves better.
Eli deserves nothing in my opinion. He’s been shit for years now. But to bench him in favor of Geno fecking Smith is ridiculous. Especially since Kap is still out there.

That roster is going nowhere unless they somehow land Aaron Rodgers or a prime Steve Young. They could at least let their best ever quarterback go out on his own terms. cnuts.

Also just had a look at Geno Smith stats to date vs Brees stats for same time period at start of his career.

Not sure where this idea of similar stats came from!

charles woodson and Julius peppers were glory hunters when they chose green bay
Which is fair in my opinion.
But wasn’t Woodson more a case of a lack in interest due to injuries?

What’s the point in isolating 2/5 years of Genos career to date to compare to Brees? And ignoring the other 3?

to show that we don't always have the full picture after the first part of a quarterbacks career? and that he can still have potential despite not great results? and that if you have a young quarterback with some potential and your team is 1-10 it's worth starting him over a 36 year old?

maybe. my point was more that there's no shame in players moving to play for good teams. bizarre to have someone calling a player a glory hunter on a Man Utd forum. especially when players who don't move to better teams are said to lack ambition

I get that, but my point is you are taking two years of Geno’s 5 years to prove he once had comparable stats to Brees, when the reality is the other 3 years of Genos career show he is vastly different to Brees.

Therefore at today’s point in Genos career, he’s already had 3 more years than when you are marking your comparison which show he is way off Brees. And since it is today that Geno replaces Eli, it seems awfully strange to ignore those 3 years.

Anyway, is what it is! We shall find out how he does.

I mean he threw 94% of his total passes in those years. it's not like I cherry picked them, i just picked the times he was a starter

Decent D though.

Yeah, but their offense isn’t great & if Jimmy plays his normal game I think they could win.

Regardless, they need to be starting him to see if he’s capable to lead a team & he’s going to have the motivation knowing if he does well there’s potentially a big contract in the off-season.

The hype that is going into Jimmy G. Imagine the meltdown if he turns out to be a dud:lol:
Dont think there is that much hype. He has played only two games. He looked good in those two games. But if he turns out to be a dud, it wont be the most surprising thing to happen this season.
