With both the Vikings and the Saints upcoming, these next two weeks will be the acid test for how far we've improved.

Julio's supreme athleticism and Sanu's intelligence compliments so well, as we saw with that opening TD. Terron Ward has done good in place of Freeman, just that fumble yesterday...

As for the Defense...McKinley was the standout. Manuel's got a great young group there.

Totally serious. Would love to see how Brady would manage behind Luck's line and with the colts coaching.

You can say that about anyone & any team. Would the Pats have won last year’s SB with Luck - I doubt it.

IMO there’s only 5 great QBs in the league - Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Ben & Wilson. Rodgers is the only QB I’d consider taking over Brady.

As you're an NFL coach..

Kicker faces top side and kicking team stacks the top side, leaving three at the bottom. Prior to kick three at the bottom motion up to top causing the 3 defenders of the receiving team to match and follow. Here's the tricky shit though, one player reverses and goes back towards the bottom at the same time the kicker reverses and kicks, leading to an easy reception and touchdowns for everyone.

Now you're gonna tell me players aren't allowed to go in motion prekick.
They used to be able to all line up on one side of the kicker, the rules have changed I believe you must now have at least 4 on each side of the kicker. I believe the rule also may dictate against placing all 10 players crowded around the kicker.

So yeah nothing new in your plan but it would be illegal. Plus the receiving team would be unlikely to leave one side of the field unmanned anyways.

Nah I think Ben has fallen off a bit now. The four I mentioned are all very close, except maybe Rodgers is clearly better. Can see an argument for Brady 2/3.

I think Hopkins is there with the very best in the game. The numbers he puts up with completely average or even worse QB's around him is amazing.

I'm sure he'd do alright. He'll throw about half as many interceptions as Luck. It's not like Brady's had a great O-line to work with every season (including this one) either.

No argument against Rodgers, though. Best QB in the league by some distance.

Brady would simply throw the ball before the pass rush is even close to him.

That we can agree on for sure.

And his receivers would magically be open everytime?

Considering that this is exactly what the Patriots are doing for years, I don't think it's magic. While I do agree that the Colts o-line is as bad as it gets, the Pats actually struggled with their line in past years, too. Brady just managed a way to get around the issue. His release is incredibly fast.

No.

On their day you can certainly argue that Julio and OBJ can perform on the same level as Brown but neither are consistently better than him. He's done it season after season on a consistent basis. What argument can you make that OBJ is a better WR than Brown?
Similarish stats and OBJ has to catch Eli's ducks.

Brown is the best receiver in the game for sure. Julio is a monster and Odell has crazy talent, but Brown is just amazing at everything.

I don't even want to hear anybody trying to tell me there's a single WR in the sport that is better than Brown. Ridiculous talent.

He's generally the best at the moment and production wise has been the best over the past 5 years.

Talib and Crabtree should get a year long ban. If you fight, you can't brawl like ballerinas, where are the push kicks, uppercuts and tackles?

Bennett put on IR. Wonder if he will announce his retirement as had been indicated a few weeks earlier.

Kinda think he’d have tried to ride out his injury through painkillers etc. to the end of the season if he planned on retiring as one last shot to win. So perhaps he’s getting recovered for one more year?

Of course that is based on whether it was his choice -we may well have just put him on, in which case he could indeed retire!

@Rado_N on a more serious note, what’s gunna happen at QB now?! Full circle back to Siemian?

I can’t see how you don’t go and get a QB1 in the off-season. IMO if Cousins hits FA, he would be a great pick up for you.

Oh and if your coaching staff keep their jobs ...

Cousins makes sense if they can afford him, or potentially Keenum or Bradford whilst they groom a draft pick.

I'm not really arsed who sees out the season to be honest, but I expect it will be Siemian. Siemian is good enough to be a back up but we need a proper starting QB who can elevate our offence.

Cousins would be good, or Brees if he decides to move on but I'd be surprised if he did. There's meant to be some very exciting QBs in the 2018 draft, but that will depend where we end up picking and/or if we can trade up to get one, and also depends on having people on staff who can actually work with him.

Joseph needs to go, at the very least.

Brees loves life in New Orleans and is treated like a national treasure there, doubt he's leaving. He'll probably retire a Saint.

I think the Deadskins will give Cousins a long-term deal and further crush their cap room. Do it, Lil' Danny!

The likes of Bradford, Bridgewater, and Garoppolo (presume 49ers will lock him up) are enticing for a club looking at starting QB for a few years.

Matt Moore might be an intriguing target despite his age. What about Glennon when the Bears inevitably release him?

Im sorry none of them will be looked at for a top team looking for a QB. Bradford and Teddy are crocks. Garoppolo has played like 3 games right? He needs to prove himself more. Matt Moore is a piece of shit. So is Glennon.

This is going to be one of the best QB years in the NFL draft so I'm sure Elway will be taking a close look there.

Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, Lamar Jackson, Luke Falk, Baker Mayfield, Mason Rudolph, and Josh Allen are all candidates.

Alternatively, Elway may elect to go with an experienced player in the latter part of his career who would like one more crack at the Super Bowl, much as Peyton did a few years back.

Personally, I feel like Eli would be the number 1 candidate if Elway elects to go in that direction - good passer, proven winner, has decreased his INT numbers lately, and obviously the hype of a Manning coming to Denver would completely reinvigorate the team and fan base.

Denver is a top team? Perhaps one should approach this as a club that is on its way to a 4-6 win season.

Also, it's possible the Chiefs let Smith go (or available) and turn over the offense to Mahomes for 2018. Smith would be a very good pickup for Denver.

@Raoul rumors of both Darnell and Rosen returning to college for the 2018 season seem to be gaining momentum. Much could change between now and the draft declaration deadline. I think Rosen may want a year under The Chipster to further improve his game. Darnell could certainly use another year of seasoning.

Denver has everything except a good QB to mount a deep playoff push. They have a majority of the team they had when they won the SB two years ago. This year is definitely a blip. They arent this bad every year. I would love it if Alex Smith ends up at Denver.

Such a disgrace, guy won two superbowls for them. Eli deserves better.

And doesn’t even make sense.

It’s not like he’s been the issue really (can’t run the ball, can’t defend, and players dropping catches left right and centre).

If they swapped him out for a young, developing QB who could potentially be the longer term solution, fine. But Geno Smith? Wow.
