Not at all. Brady outplayed Siemian where it mattered. Got the job done, and kept on winning those 1st downs. Siemian had a few good long passes, and is a good prospect, but he desperately needs an O-line. Most of his passing yard came in the first quarter or in garbage time, so the stats lie a little. Patriots D was terrific, and the running game was alright. Brady had a below par, yet decent performance.
I know the Patriots are on a roll at the moment, but the Broncos this season have seen a noticeable drop in performance for four reasons.
1. Rushing Defense - The Broncos have the #2 D in the NFL, #1 Passing D, but are 28th against the run. They are allowing nearly 130 yards per game which is a recipe for disaster, compared with last year when they allowed just 83.
2. Lack of a cohesive ground game, which completely undercuts the ability to effectively use play action. Manning's experience and passing quality was sufficient to temporarily paper over the cracks last year, but the Broncos are going to have to look at RB this offseason since they haven't had a 1000 yard rusher in 3 years, which when combined with a young, inexperienced QB is a recipe for underachievement.
3. Siemian's inexperience (let's face it, he's no Manning - even a 39 year old Peyton managed to win it all last year). Siemian is doing well given his level of experience, but it's unrealistic to expect him to take the Broncos to the Super Bowl. He needs a supporting cast who can step up and fill the gaps.
4. WRs have gone missing at various times during the year. Thomas had a slow start and seemed a bit underutilized, then when he got some momentum midseason, suddenly Sanders goes anonymous. They need to integrate both of them simultaneously for maximum effectiveness
Fix numbers 1 and 2 and number three becomes more management and has a positive influence on number 4.
