Elway has completely bungled the QB situation with allowing Osweiller to feck off, then panic signing Sanchez and having to waive him, and winding up with two inexperienced young QBs. Sad!

There was bugger all he could do about Osweiler, Houston gave him £72m ffs which he was clearly never worth.

Siemian has been doing great too, until getting hurt.

Why didn't he just sign Bradford ?

I presume he didn't feel like dolling out XX million for a subpar QB that hadn't proven worth the money. He let Osweiler go for similar money. They had numerous player looking at free agency or nearing free agency and needed to lock up the likes of Miller, Thomas, etc. I think they chose wisely - keep as much top tier talent as possible and find a bus driver to steer the offense, maybe strike gold at QB in the draft.

They talked for like 5 minutes and the ref comes out and says "after a brief conversation" haha

Falcons have been superb. Let's see how long they keep this form up.

Raiders!! Hope they win again. Really like watching them play.

Wow. Rams get pressure, Tyrod does a Quincy Carter heave up impersonation, and the receiver makes a catch on his ass. Rams DB should have picked that off but apparently wasn't aware of the flight path or something. Terrible coverage.

Rookie Drew Kaser shanked a punt that led to a Raiders touch down, and couldn't hold on to a basic snap. Nightmare game.

So nice that the Packers drive wasnt the usual predictable stuff from Mccarthy. And a TD too.

Weekly injury news for the Vikings, André Smith and Mike Harris are officially out for the season.

Panthers are absolutely horrible this season. Their decline reminds me of United's decline when Moyes took over. Maybe he's actually inside Riverboat Ron.

Kaep to start.

Hope he does well. Will be interesting to see the reaction he gets from fans & the opposing players.

What's going wrong for them apart from Newton?

What's going wrong for them apart from Newton?

The D Line is bad, the O line is bad and their secondary is bad.
Pretty much this. Cam Newton hasn't even been their biggest problem apart from obviously missing the game yesterday.

Especially the defence is shockingly disappointing. Yes, Josh Norman left, which in hindsight was a stupid move, but they've done absolutely nothing to resolve the problems in the secondary other than drafting three cornerbacks with big question marks hanging over them. James Bradberry, the only one of the three who's been any good, has been out for the last two games, which doesn't help either.

The most surprising has to be the interior d-line. Kawann Short was arguably the best rushing interior lineman in the NFL last season(probably second to Donald) and he's been a shadow of himself so far this season. He was even benched for periods last night. The outside pass-rush is horrible as well, but it was below average last season as well, only masked by the brilliant interior d-line. Gettleman has done feck all to address that during the off-season, which is catching up now. And even the linebackers seem to be struggling in run-defence, which has probably been their biggest strength for the past seasons.

I wouldn't say that the o-line is that bad, although it could seem that way from watching the games against the Broncos and Vikings - but those are the two best defences in the league. It's probably bang average. Oher and Remmers have been injured on-and-off so far this season, so there's been a lot of rotation on the line. But they probably overachieved for the most part last season, and that's being exposed now - especially when the playbook doesn't seem to include short passing plays at all. And Newton tends to hold on to the ball a little too long and look for the big plays down the field too much.

But it seems like a massive Super Bowl loss hangover, tbf. If that field goal in the first game in Denver had gone in, I think we'd have seen a different team going forward. They just seem mentally weak at the moment, and I doubt they get into the play-offs this year.

Oh, and Graham Gano has missed some awful field goals which have cost a few games.

In other news: Clipboard Jesus has been cut by the Browns. He played half a game before they cut him. Instead, they've promoted rookie Kevin Hogan from the practice squad. If Kessler isn't fit for Sunday, he's going to be their 6th quarterback in just as many games this year. They must actually be cursed.
