Our D's come up big this game.. Brady's not having his greatest game, the offense doesn't seem to have any rhythm

Thank you Brockie.. What the hell was he doing with that throw. Been overthrowing stuff when he needs to come up with clutch throws

Pats made that much harder than it should've been. Texans D is excellent but our offense looked so lazy & out of sync.

Brady took a lot of hits. Too many penalties & we threw a lot of deep passes which isn't really our strength.

Lewis was excellent (needs to stop fumbling though). The D for the most part was very good (bend but don't break philosophy). Hopefully Hogan & Bennett injuries are not too bad - Bennett seemed ok.

If we play like this next week, I don't fancy our chances against either KC or Pittsburg. Brady & the offense need to be a lot better.

$72 million

Goodnight :)

After beating the Patriots I saw a lot of Seahawks fans talk about how they always come good in the second part of the season even though it seemed pretty obvious that this team was flawed.

Comfortable enough win for the Patriots without having to open up their playbook too much, but over-relied on their D.

Could be a blessing we had this sloppy game tonight. Plenty to work on.

Expect much better execution next week.

I think this was just the sort of game we needed to wake up.. Sloppy on offense, it's like we never really got into the game completely on offense. Thank god the D and Brock were there to keep us in the game.

Hopefully Marty B and Hogan aren't serious injuries.

Also, there is now a change in the narrative with the media, they'll be going with the 'sloppy pats look beatable in AFCC game' storyline.

Which might work in our favor if they start shitting on the Brady and the offense all week. Cause don't we all love it when Brady is playing to prove a point and silence his critics.

Not mentioned much either but I think there was also some rust coming off the bye (not that that affected Matty Ice).

But certainly a wake up call. If we play like that against either of the remaining AFC cats we will be dispatched.

Just glad we are through. The games today should be fun to watch.

Congrats Pats fans!

Already looking fotward to tonight's games, will be good ones.

Thanks. Texans put up a show to be honest. Clowney and Mercilus in particular ... when Watt comes back it'll be madness up front.

Also people have been quick to write off Brock. A proper off seasons work away from the lime light and all he has to do is a decent job and you'll be contenders because your defence next year will be one of the best units in recent times injuries dependent.

All the team have so far looked pretty vulnerable. NE were supposed to blow Houston out and didn't look particularly impressive. Atlanta played well but weren't dominant. If the likes of Kansas City or Dallas put in a dominant performance today then they will have the momentum going forward.

Atlanta were quite dominant imo. Ran the ball, threw it well & their D caused Russell Wilson plenty of problems. Really hard to say how they could've played much better.

Other than Hester causing them issues!

It's hard to say that Atlanta weren't dominant. In the last 8 you don't expect blow outs. And certainly not against Seattle. I think Atlanta showed a hell of a lot. And for a team like them, getting the first win often leads to a lot just because where there are doubts there is so much pressure on that first game. In my view they dominated.

New England didn't dominate persay but broadly speaking, our issues were only caused by ourselves. And a very good Texans D.

Considering it's Seattle, it's still as dominant as you can be against them. Seattle's defence looked very tired to me.

They didn't run the ball - their leading rusher only had 57 yards which is pitiful. They did as usual pass well which makes up for a lack of adequate running game, but they were also helped by a pivotal penalty when Hester's return got called back and Wilson subsequently tripped over his OL for the safety. That was a potential 9 point swing in the opposite direction that set the pace for the rest of the game.

Doesn't change the fact that Seattle's defence uncharacteristically could hardly stop Atlanta.

If anything, the performance vs Houston is just going to make us play that much harder vs Pit/KC. The D had their wake up call earlier this season, maybe the offense was getting a little complacent with how well they've dealt with the loss of Gronk. I don't think i'm going out on a limb when I say we're going to see a much better Pats team and a much better Brady in the AFCC game.

If you look at yesterday's game and the 26-24 win the Seahawks win earlier in the year - the stats are very similar. There was very little in it this time around except for the 9 point momentum swing off of Hester's return and Wilson's late picks.

Stats just don't show the picture properly. I find it hard to believe that you could even think that Atlanta were not dominant (as far as domination in the divisional round goes) yesterday.

And Seattle easily could have lost the other game at home. I'm not disagreeing about the 9 point swing, but ultimately they kept Atlanta at 24 points in the first game, which you need to do against this offence and yesterday they didn't. Especially when your offence isn't producing enough against a mediocre defence.

Was disappointed by Seattle's lack of discipline in the special teams unit. Would have been a different game if the Heston run stood. Atlanta could have still won it at that point, mind.

I think Kansas City and the Packers progress tonight.

Yes they do. Unlike in English footy, you can actually look at the stats and get a decent picture of the equilibrium in an NFL game. That's why I posted the previous game where Seattle won - the stats were very similar excepting a penalty and an interception or two. You can probably chalk the Falcons performance down to home field advantage that results in a few more errors (penalties) from the Seahawks. If you've watched Atlanta throughout the year, this was more or less one of their predictable performances. Lopsided passing stats, mediocre rushing, good (but not great) solid defense.

I hope so! Brady threw a lot of deep balls yesterday, which is unusual & the offense seemed sluggish. I do expect it to improve next week.

You are right but good luck arguing it.

Can't wait for Packers-Cowboys game
Am torn as to who i want to win, change my mind every time I think about it

Both games v Falcons would be excellent

Hoping Chiefs win

Would love a Brady-Rodgers Superbowl but that is a long way off at the moment

I hope the Cowboys win, as I'm not entirely sure if the Packers have what it takes to win it all - and I definitely don't want the Pats to win it.

I want a Packer win, Rodgers vs Ryan could be a real shootout and a Rodgers vs Brady QB would be

If the Steelers and Packers win tonight, 3 of the 4 remaining QBs will have won a SB already.

@Raoul isn't wrong about Atlanta's predictable performance, but Seattle's problems have been predictable all season and last year as well. Our offence was incredibly inconsistent and we have the worst offensive line in the league. IMO Seattle's tiredness on the defensive side of the ball is to blame on the little help they got offensively for most of the season. I think it caught up to them. Perfect example was the first Arizona game, were they had the ball for 50 minutes and we had it for 25, if I remember it correctly.
