Even though the score suggests otherwise, GB had to play really tough football for 3 quarters and I think it took a lot out of them. Wouldn't be surprised if the Cowboys steamroll them.

Yeah. Did he stumble? Thought he was going all the way!

Im not sure what screwed him up. I thought it was his own player that tripped him, but I still cant tell from the replays.

It will be the injuries that could make the difference.

Yep, this is the worry. as long as we have Rodgers moving and the Oline protecting him, we have a chance. We have targets thankfully even with Nelson loss. The worry will always be defence esp secondary. Although overall they did well, they were lucky with Giants missing some catches they should have made which would make a huge difference.

Packers cant afford to go so behind Cowboys and then rely on Rodgers to do everything.

One thing going for the packers is that they'll make it as hard for Zeke as any team has so far. GB have a good run defence.

If I was Green Bay, I'd put everything into stopping Zeke and force Dak to throw for the win. He's yet to really be challenged from that perspective. Rodgers should put up points against he cowboys. The question is how long he is on the field and how many the cowboys put up. For me it all revolves around stopping Zeke.

Sean McDermott (Panthers DC) will be the new Bills head coach.

Vance Joseph (Dolphins DC) will be the new Broncos head coach.

Not gonna lie I'm disappointed, but I'll trust Elway.

If Joseph gets rid of Wade I'll be pissed, though.

Vance is a odd choice, given that the offense is what needed fixing. Plus his ties to the area made it convenient.

Maybe they didn't want the Shanahan shadow looming over them...?

Why would he? Reports suggest it?
Yea there was reports that if he got the job he wouldn't be bringing Wade back (his contract expired at the end of the season).

Could have been BS, but arriving in your first HC job after having been in charge of one of the worst Defenses and getting rid of the guy in charge of one of the best is a bit Moyes-esque.

 yeah it would be indeed.

Odd but perhaps not surprising given isn't it said that he was in for the job if they didn't get Kubiak?

Elway must see something in him. Generally can be trusted on this kind of thing too.

I thought it was for a coordinator position but you're right.

He sounds like a players' coach...and it also sounds like we'll need a star OC...

Apparently he's kind of highly regarded in the league though. His D was 29th in yards allowed but 18th in points against, which supposedly meant that they came through when it was needed the most.

Or something like that. Was an article on nfl.com that I can't find anymore.

Sounds a bit like putting a top hat on roadkill but we'll see.

In fairness it's a valid point. Giving up yards doesn't necessarily mean much if your opponents aren't scoring touchdowns and putting up points.

18th and 29th aren't exactly something to be proud of though.

Bizarre hire by the Broncos. The Dolphins were 18th in total defense and even worse against the rush.

The calibre of the players will obviously make a difference but we've been utter shit against the run which wasn't exactly a Miami strong point either.

The defensive coordinator pick will be important.

Yeah - agreed. It's not surprising given his standing with Elway but it is in the context of the Broncos. The Miami defence on paper should be better than 18th and 29th.

For me you have such good players on defence that an offensive head coach with a good DC (I.e keep Wade and let him do what he does) would have made more sense. Let's be honest even if the defensive scheme sucks that Broncos D will always be near the top of the league whilst you have the players at your disposal that you do.

For me therefore the staffing hires on the offensive side of the ball is really interesting. Perhaps Elway is looking at it the other way and saying "my best side of the ball is defence so let's maximise its potential" rather than "my defence will always be good so let's go get a proper offensive coach who can compliment it."

Like you suggested earlier I'd have certainly gone for the latter but in fairness you at least have the comfort that Elway is about as trustworthy as you can get in making these calls.

Pretty much where I'm at with it to be honest.

Good video & he makes some good points.

Personally I don't think the Miami trip is as big a deal as everyone made out. They had a day off, they could do what they wanted & they chose to go Miami. It was stupid to do, but the whole thing is overblown imo.

Its over blown not just cos of the result, but the performances. he might have done the same thing even if he was sat at home, studying tape and practicing.
The problem is when you perform like that, it becomes a bigger story and is linked (which tbh, makes sense).

Is PF Changs that good though? I've seen it around a lot in the US but never tried it.

On another note, why are they going to LA ffs?

It's ok. Better version of a shitty chain restaurant. You're always better off going with an authentic restaurant that doesn't heat up broth out of a plastic bag.

It's overblown and I personally think (as a Giants fan) he's being made out as a scapegoat by the NY media.

That being said, he can't attract attention with his antics, and then complain when the attention turns sour due to not performing on the field.

I actually did enjoy PF Changs a fair amount when i had it a few months back, have to say. But yeah, it is a chain restaurant. But sometimes that can be a good thing :)

Yes, they are supposed to announce it this week.

Edit: My bad, they have a meeting this week.

Ah ok. Pretty sure it will be done & announced soon.

Will be interesting to see how they do in Vegas. Not sure if Vegas has ever had a major sports team.

Vegas got a NHL franchise from next season. Vegas Golden Knights or something.

That's a great point, before the NHL franchise it was said that gambling was one of the main problems.

Really starting to think that there are some cracks showing for the NFL in terms of it's unending growth and power. While there are still cities/states willing to bow down to them in terms of helping build stadiums there are starting to be some who are less willing. TV ratings are down (but not sure anyone has quantified how much is due to actual drop in fans and how much is due to people watching on alternative sources that can't be tracked).

Fans in Buffalo got upset over losing a game a season to Toronto, never heard one home area fan of a team be excited about losing a home game to London, ticket prices continue to sky rocket pricing more and more people out of attending the games, I think the ever expanding number of days games are being played is taking away from the aura of an NFL game as an event, the whole concussion issue (not to mention other injuries), all are things that are starting to chip away at the NFL.

Now it is not about to suddenly collapse in popularity, but it might find itself being taken down a rung or two.

Feel sorry for San Diego and their fans.

@JustAFan - at one of the wembley games, there was a dude who came over from Indy to watch Colts. But him and a few others said they were getting annoyed by things like the refs getting too involved, it really become the No Fun League (especially the over blown way they penalise you for celebrating).
A lot of people think the standard of officiating (and over officiating) is a problem for the NFL. Not sure if anybody even likes Roger Goodell
