As someone who really only somewhat understands the game this year, Luck seems quite overrated..

On that theme:

The Chiefs were 9-0 in 2013.

What happened? Were they not good either?

Luck isn't overrated, he's injured. Something they did not report and may get punished for. Also, his team isn't that good; not sure why they were viewed as a reasonable pick for the Superbowl.

On the second note...paper tigers. Not that I believe Denver is. Any team with a defense that fierce with an elite QB (say what you want about Manning, most teams would start him) has a chance. They are probably 2nd favorite to the Pats at this point.

Luck is overrated to the extent he was being anointed a surefire future hall of famer.

Leave that aside and he is a very good young quarterback, but one who is prone to making a lot of mistakes - he has been throwing interceptions like they're going out of style...and not just this year, but his entire career.

Andrew Luck -
Touchdowns - 99
Interceptions - 55
Fumbles - 31
Completion % - 58.1%

But, I expect him to sort this out in the next couple of seasons and he'll break a few records before he retires.

He's not. He's injured and their offensive line is shite. I'd still pick him if I was a GM and I could build my team around anyone.

Good defense. Game manager for a QB.

NFL games coming to twickenham from next year. With a deal with Spurs to kick in after their new stadium is built, I don't think it will be too long before the clamour for a permanent London team will reappear.

Fans get 8 games a season (I'm ignoring the playoffs) - this isn't baseball or basketball...so it's a bit of bitch to then potentially lose one of those games to London.

But, the fact remains, only about 7% of NFL fans have EVER attended a game. The game and hell even stadiums are now being built with the TV audience in mind.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones acknowledges - “That stadium I built was built for television. I could have built it for $800 million, not [$1.2 billion]. But I wanted to design a ‘wow’ factor so that an Al Michaels could be sitting there, and basically through his talent make the fans at home on television feel like that they were right there at the game, a part of what was going on at the game.

Actually, it's 10 games (if you include the two preseason games). Season tickets would be priced accordingly, so my concern would be less for the fans on possibly losing out on a game and more about competitive balance in regards to travel. Making west coast teams fly 5,000 miles is harsh. Also would suck to be the London-based team and have to fly 10 times across the pond.
How do Americans feel about the International series, and the proposed London franchise?
You can have the Jags.

 Niners are a farce this year

A dumpster fire. To think they were a few plays away from winning it all a few years ago.

I think it's absurd given the logistics. LA doesn't even have a team yet, though they're about to get 2.

How does a stadium affect TV viewership? I can't recall any fans watching a team because the stadium has the wow factor. Building a stadium that does not match with the ticketing revenues is one of the dumbest moves in financial management of a team. It might boost tourism tickets, but that all I can see.

Jerry World is a huge draw, and also pulls in a lot of non-NFL events due to its glamour.

It doesn't. Nobody is going to be persuaded to tune in and watch a game cos of the stadium they're playing at. Jerry Jones built Jerry World to pad his own inflated ego, and Texans live by the motto "bigger is better". To assist with construction costs for building AT&T Stadium, Jerry received $325 million from the city of Arlington as well as a $150 million loan from the NFL. They have enough college football and basketball games, concerts, and events to justify the costs.

I thought they rejected the Chargers and only the Rams would go there?

Are the Jags still humming and hawing about moving?

It really is an incredibly impressive stadium, one I'd love to see in person. Live fans, tv fans, it's big time, which is the real point.

Same as City having multiple expansions despite the fact they couldn't fill 45k, never mind the potential 65k they'll have soon. I don't think Spurs will fill their new setup either, and West ham getting the Olympic Stadium is just baffling.

I wonder how this will affect season tickets. Ive had a season ticket for 2 years now and was going to renew for next season. (it gets you the same seat, at a lower price than paying for each one individual - you can also retain your seat)

However with different stadiums (two being smaller than wembley), I do wonder what they will do. I assume they will get rid of that which is a shame or they will try and provide the equivalent.

A few people have said Wembley is much easier to get to than Twickenham or Spurs will be (in terms of coming from outside of London which is pretty much true).

I do find it funny how they state UK is expanding (but really its all London hehe)

Ken Whisenhunt fired - it makes sense i guess....other than with Kurt Warner, he hasn't had any success.

BUT - that Titans team with Mariota didn't look bad the first 3/4 games. He should have been given till the end of the season...after this, this is a lost season as it is.

That Twickenham deal is interesting, I heard they still had a 3 game deal with Wembley so.. 5 games next year? Happy with that as Twickenham is far closer to me.

Do hope we get a decent team come over though.

Finally got round to watching the highlights from the Denver game earlier today.

For all the guff about Manning being done he was fantastic. The TDs may have come from runners but he threw some great passes, both quick and long.

The offense stepped up a bit at last, hopefully they can continued that trend.

Twickenham is three games over three years (minimum). So one there, and two at Wembley for 2016 and probably 2017 (contract has Wembley having 2 per year until 2020)
Whats interesting is from 2018, Spurs will have 2 games per year (minimum)

So 2018 could see 1 at Twickenham, 2 at Wembley and 2 at Spurs. (and thats minimum)
Theres always been talking of increasing (went from 1 to 2, now 3) Can see it going to 4 and 5 over the next few years. Then possibly to see how 8 would do in one year in terms of attendances. (esp with the thoughts of having a team over here).

Of course, it could just be 4 as the minimum gives NFL flexibility (so it could see 2 at Twickenham in a year (eg 2017 thus none in 2018). Regardless, we will see when fixtures are released.

For Denver to keep the 2nd best QB in the league to 77 fecking yards is absolutely amazing. What a defensive show they are putting up this year. They are definitely making up for Manning's worst year in a while.

I still think he will do better in a better offensive team i.e. better receivers and better offensive line.

Wait a minute, Colts are leading their division?! fecking hell the AFC South sucks :lol:

Atleast the NFC East is filled with bitter rivalries.

The AFC south should be scrapped completely.
