Packers not playing for more than two weeks not helping them at all. Rodgers hasn't played since Christmas night! That like three weeks ago.

He might have all day to make passes but the coverage downfield is excellent.

They call a penalty there but what about earlier? Conspiracy!

Onside fails, Giants have the ball and field position.

Huge 3rd down conversion. That should be that...

I had the Giants winning this game but I'd have much preferred if GB had won. Now we have 3 very good defenses & Tom Brady in the Championship games and defense usually wins :nervous:

Thought the Pats were 31st, but that's really splitting hairs on how bad their defence has been

Yep rubbish all season, but Pats D yesterday was quite exciting and if we can perform like that next week then we'll have a chance. As I said, defense usually wins & unless the Pats D can support Brady like they did against Denver, I'm not confident about the Pats chances.

Edit: fitting that we have another interception. Superb defense.

The champs are out. Fantastic performance from NY, defensively they were excellent & Manning got it done offensively. GB were very poor and made too many mistakes with turnovers and dropped catches. Perhaps it was a mistake resting Rodgers as he looked out of sorts.

Total yards allowed
31. New England - 6577 - 411.1/ypg
32. Green Bay - 6585 - 411.6/ypg

Passing yards allowed
31. New England - 4703 - 293.9/ypg
32. Green Bay - 4796 - 299.8/ypg

Rushing yards allowed
14. Green Bay - 1789 - 111.8/ypg
17. New England - 1874 - 117.1/ypg

Ultimately, points allowed is the biggest factor but for some reason both offensive and defensive rankings are determined by total yards.

Points allowed
15. New England - 342 - 21.2/ypg
19. Green Bay - 359 - 22.4/ypg

Good points but it should be noted Denver has a putrid offense and the defense is built on the offense establishing a clock-control game plan limiting the amount of time the opposing offense has possession. And when Denver's defense plays teams with great passing attacks it gets shown up for the average unit it is and the offense is one-dimensional. Baltimore can run and pass with efficiency but it ultimately comes down to Flacco not fecking up IMO. Speaking of, all Flacco does is win but he doesn't get the hype that fraud in Denver does. ;)

:( Packs just werent up to it. Driver, Matthews and to a certain extent Rodgers only ones that performed. The rest were shambles.

Manning was a beast on third downs but had no pressure at all which meant he could pick it up.

So we get two defence vs offence matches next week. Shall be interesting.

See Giants/Pats SB. Offence will win out next week.

Giants fully deserved it but GB were awful I thought. ok, not as bad as LSU but still pretty flat. if Giants can replicate they could go-all-the-way.

The underdogs look solid bets there. Perhaps Giants straight up, Ravens with the points.

49ers will play NE in the Superbowl! Delighted that we get a home game against the Giants as opposed to going to GB.

Excited about this weekend, it’s a great opportunity. Strong games are needed by Mankins, Connolly and Waters to allow 12 to step up into the pocket. I don’t worry too much about edge pressure with him as he has great feel and movement in the pocket. Stop Ngata! Oh and don’t force the ball under pressure anyway near Ed Reed and give him time to diagnose deep plays, its not a good idea. I read the media etc believe he is slowing down a bit, he still scares the crap out of me. Best in the game.

I was really impressed with the 49ers on the back end at times last week against a deep and talented receiving group, even if the wheels did come off a bit towards the end. I’m looking for them to do the same and for it to be a physical defensive game, which is my thing. There were some huge hits against the Saints, Pierre Thomas may still be trying to remember his name. Aldon Smith and Pierre Paul on the same field is a good thing too.

giants played a great game. deserved the win. turnovers, that ridiculous hail mary, and generally poor play from everyone (along with some questionable coaching decisions) led to the loss. Packers need to get a pass rush. olb and/or de, a safety. with a decent pass rush we won't have to blitz every damm play and hang our corners out to dry. concentrate on d and ol in the draft. we'll be back in the playoffs next season.

Still can't choose between 49ers and giants. Giants are definitely the hot team atm. The away 'disadvantage' doesn't seem to effect Eli Manning but Giants O-line will really need to be up for this as 49ers D is up there with the best and could get a few sacks.

This is a coin toss people so I think I'll put a small wager on Giants plus the points as this could be decided by a FG, only if the spread goes to +3.

Pats are coming to England next year! I hope I can get tickets this time.

In related news, the Rams will play the Wembley game for the next 3 seasons (starting with the Pats). Shit idea, they should have different teams each year.
