Since I am not familiar with all the rules yet, could someone explain to me how Denver did not catch the ball when NE punted it?

It's not necessary for the Broncos to have caught the ball on the punt. Usually when someone punts it deep like the Pats did the receiving team will call for a fair catch and actually catch the ball. Some teams in that situation don't attempt to catch the ball (as Denver did) because if they touch the ball and fumble, it gives the Pats great field position. Also, they're gambling on the punt ending up in the endzone in which case it's a touchback and Denver starts at the 20 yard line.

It's a matter of choice in that situation if they let the ball bounce and hope it ends up as a touchback or if they call a fair-catch and risk fumbling.
 
Pats D has been excellent so far. 3 and out again, very good.
 
Definitely a first half to forget for the Broncos. They need the HT whistle to sound right now.

Well this game is as good as over. NE will score at least 50 points. Hopefully the Giants do better tomorrow against the Packers.

What a half from the Patriots. Offense has been on fire, defense has been very impressive. 5TDs for Brady, 3 to the Gronk. Not sure if this proves anything for the Pats, they were expected to win and they'll win easily.

Tempted to get some sleep but this is quite entertaining.
 
This is getting embarrassing and the worst part its only half time. feck at this rate they could even get 75 points.

I love watching offense but this defensive performance has been exceptional. Hope we can keep this up, great intensity.

That's enough for me. Great day of sport with United winning & Pats winning. Now all I need is to wake up tomorrow and discover we've signed Messi :drool:
 
Fantastic defensive display by Ravens. They'll need to up their big plays though if they want that Super Bowl.
 
Ravens beat us in NE a few seasons ago and their defense is capable of stopping Brady. If the Pats D plays as well as they did yesterday then that should be enough to beat the Ravens.
