Neymar

3 weeks ago Kasper Schmeichel came out saying that he joined Nice FC not because he's a washed up goalkeeper with his dad's body type issues minus his dad's talent but simply because of INEOS. That statement aged badly as NICE fans including the club captain had come out claiming that INEOs are basically clueless. Suddenly this rumour has popped out meant to discredit Jassim. Which is kind of hilarious considering that despite all his weakness Neymar had scored more goals then Nice top scorer (17 vs 10) and is just 1 assist shy then all Nice 3 joint assist men put together. (11 vs 12). That despite playing mostly behind the main striker.

I wouldn't want Neymar anywhere near to United if he's involved in a typical transfers. He's 31, his salary is massive and he's got his share of injuries. However if PSG are keen to offer him on a 2 year loan, maybe paying part of his salary as well then Neymar would be a no brainer especially in a summer plagued with the takeover talks and FFP issues.

He would go on to be one of the most talented players to ever wear the Manchester United shirt.

Few players in history have Neymar's talent.

We need goals, not sure why anyone would be opposed to a loan deal for Neymar who has shown to be a lethal finisher with an impressive goal scoring record despite the injuries. Even if we sign a striker, that arguably only leaves two players that we could rely on to score in big moments. We need to 3 to 4 players in the squad that can be relied on for at least 10 to 15 goals. Having Neymar on loan with Rashford and a striker is exactly what we need.

Let’s put this into perspective…injury prone martial on the way out to be replaced by injury prone neymar but no way near as bad and a much better player

as long as we still sign a top striker and everything else and he is a welcoming gift from Qatar then I’m all forot

Such an Ed Woodward signing, that's probably the main basis for hesitancy.

Positives:
1. He's undoubtedly better than all of our current forwards, Rashford is streets ahead of our other current options but he's not as good as Neymar yet - should he ever reach his level, Neymar's natural talent/skill is quite uniquely high.
2. An entertaining player to have in the team

Negatives:
1. Cost (wages and/or transfer fee), we know how this unsettles a squad that has liked to find excuses to be shite.
2. Age isn't ideal (much the same as Casemiro really) so we'd need to have the rest of the squad also ready to challenge whilst he's still at his best.
3. He's used to playing in a far far inferior league, and has been for a long time.
4. Injuries, if he's prone to injuries then coming to the Premier League the wrong side of 30 where the refs won't just not protect him but will let slide much more than normal just because it's him.

It's a bad idea.

Anyone opposing Neymar on a cut price loan deal on sporting and footballing reasons has quite clearly not been watching him. He was PSGs best player before the WC. The injuries are obviously a worry and that ankle issue is recurring but on a loan, he'd be absolutely unreal even for 20 league games. He's better than all our forward combined. And then some.

Would be mental to use the money we need for a top class CF and CM to sign him. World clas or not, we have other issues.

He was probably the best player in the world for a stretch this season.

That ankle injury is a concern though.

He's never played more than 22 league matches since he joined PSG.
I'm not sure how long he would last in a PL season...
Ligue 1 is extremely physical and I doubt Neymar will face any more aggression and physicality than he's already used to so you can expect him to last a similar 20-25 odd games.

Mbappe, KDB, Benzema, Modric, Lewandowski, Salah
The last 4 or 5 years yes (2 years for Mbappe), but none of them were better than Neymar before that. What I have no idea about is whether he could still be at that level now or whether the years of injuries and playing in France means he's nowhere near as good anymore.

what I liked of this video is , how he looks for a pass for his team-mate. Its incredible for a player of his ability to look for a pass rather than go all-alone. If only our forwards did the same. Also I liked how he does not moan when a team-mates misses a sitter from his pass.

There are always discussions on his lack of professionalism and attitude issues. Are those real? I know he skips everything during his sister's birthday but any other known issues other than injury concerns ?

Don't want him at United, he's a great player when fit but he misses half the games every season. Plus with his lack of work rate I don't think Ten Hag would want him anyway. Luckily Ed Woodward has gone now because I'm sure he'd try and sign him just for the shirt sales even if it meant missing out on other priority positions we need

Superbly talented player, however as I suspected there was nothing concrete in story

Let me put this way. At no point since he joined PSG has he been the third best player on the world.

At Barca he was behind Suarez and Messi and behind Ronaldo at Madrid. Probably behind Bale too.

Big worry about this: big name big-ego signing who's 31 and follows the money, with huge potential to cause disruption and derail the development of the team because the team would have to revolve around his needs. Sound familiar?

If Kane isn't coming then Neymar on a loan deal with an young striker coming in makes perfect sense.

Doesn't pass the sniff test...red flags all over the place.

The route back to the top is not Naymar or any other expensive name looking for his last big contract.

Neymar doesn't have attitude issues just that the whole world likes to believe he should be doing more and so they choose to believe that he doesn't apply himself as much as he should or he doesn't care as much as he should. Truth is, Neymar may like to party more than the average and his injury record over the years isn't pretty but on the pitch he always try to give his best, very creative and yet not selfish plus he is decisive in big games.

Neymar doesn't have lack of workrate. He does more pressing than any PSG forward when he is on the pitch (low bar I know but his workrate isn't as poor as many believe).

His talent is huge, but can he be a team player? It seems to me that ETH wants players, who are willing to work hard and set the team before anything or anyone else. Can Neymar do that? I fear he could be worse than Pogba in that area.

There is not 1 top striker in his mid twenties worth spending silly money upon. Vlahovic is injury prone, Osimhen is unproven while Kane is the closest to what we need but he's 29. Neymar on a loan would allow us to bring a young striker and develop him

Sounds like he is more of team player than Pogba

Amazes me the likes of Ducker,Luckhurst,Whitwell and Stone didn't flatten this when Ogden,Romano and Laurens were quick to do that

There's a reason why no top club including PSG want him. He's very overhyped. Doesn't give you the return you pay for. Kane would give you more goals and appearances. You can never count on him. Also his CV as a main man at PSG is pretty embarassing.
