I've not given much thought to Mancini, probably because of his obvious City past, but he'd sort us out defensively no question.

So you'd take a caretaker until the end of the season and wait for Ten Hag for next season?
Oh I totally didn’t read the first part of your post, sorry.

I really don’t know actually. I’m not a huge fan of Zidane or Conte really. Conte would a Mourinhoesque appointment.

Pochettino not available and I'd like him, even if he's underperformed so far at PSG (which is debatable, it's his first full season). Ten Hag is doing a great job at Ajax but not sure if club will hire him. They might go for Zidane.

We need a real experienced manager and coach.

Although Conte is an ex player he's got real management experience at the top level and won Leagues recently in Italy and England.

But then you have the problem that if it goes brilliantly, as it did with Ole at first, you're bound to appoint them.
Why? We didn’t have to appoint Ole, we made a knee jerk decision and it turned out the wrong option despite being very obvious it was going to be the wrong decision. If we even waited till the end of that season there’s no way Ole would have gotten the job, our season tailed off hard after the PSG win.

How about doing it consistently in the Champions League?

Reasonable point but we're Man Utd.

Is that enough merit for the job?

I'd pick a manager that was won the League recently in two of the top European Leagues. Serie A and Premier League winner Conte.

I’m actually for the first time thinking that I wouldn’t mind Simeone.
Watching that madman grab his crotch and shithouse the Kop after we put one past them would be hilarious to watch, but I really, really don't like how he negatively sets his teams up.

Here's an interesting one - would you take Zidane/Conte now, or persist with Ole until the end of the season if thats what it takes to get Ten Hag in?
That is what I think, get an agreement with den Hag for the summer. Don’t prolong the contracts of certain players but wait for the new guy to get a view which players might be useful to him.

But if you appoint Poch and he's woeful, it'd look a huge mistake not to go with Ole.

We had to give him a go after that.
We've tried it, it was better than the end of the Mourinho spell, the squad is improved, but it's very definitely time to move on.

I actually think a lot of the players should go. No manager is going to make Harry Maguire into a better CB or make Pogba care.

For me it comes down to this: when I watch these managers' teams play, Ten Hag's is by far the one I want Manchester United to play like.

Obviously there's risk with any appointment. But he has done well enough for me to think he's worth that risk. By which I don't just mean the Dutch titles or getting that Ajax side within a few minutes of a CL final (though that is impressive), but also in the sheer quality of their play. They play some of the best and best-coached attacking football in Europe, despite having relatively limited players.

Ideally Ten Hag. Realistically i think it will be either Zidane or Conte. Is Mancini available?

Zidane has indicated he'd consider the job. He's proven he can come in and manage big names and get the best out of them to get results NOW. We have a squad for this and next year.

Ten Haag will need more time and we can try him if Zidane doesn't work out after a year and a half and who can then go coach France.

I don’t think so. We tailed off so hard that season I think it would have been fine to replace him. Looking at his whole time here that season, if we got 4th, yeah you have to sign him. Given we threw that away with our poor form post PSG, that was a preview of his whole tenure.

I voted for Ten Haag. His achievements not on the level of Zidane, but I think he’s a comer. For what it’s worth.

Never mind the manager, we should get David Gill back and he would sort out the shitshow is the board. They hired Moyes and let him start in July and a panic buy of Fellaini. Then LVG who did win an FA Cup to be fair but wasn’t a United type manager. Jose lived in a bloody hotel all the time he was here. Then they hired Ole mainly because he’s cheaper than a top top manager. Just now, I take anyone other than Ole and his none-coaching staff.

Hkw has Conte imploded at other clubs? Just curious because I haven't really followed his career.

He's a short term manager. His over the top demanding behavior and conflict enthusiastic way of dealing with literally everyone makes people sick and tired of his shit after a steadfast 2-3 seasons before he moves on.

If he gets the job here he'll leave by 2025

It has to be ten Hag or Luis Enrique for me. And I'm hoping we bring in a caretaker in the mould of Guus Hiddink in the mean time. We're not gonna win the league, no matter who comes in now. So bringing in a caretaker with experience might see us at the very least challenge for one of the cups.

Ten Hag if we wanna do some great things with the young players with have.

Don’t like the idea of Conte and I just don’t think Zidane would do it here personally.

Would like to see Marco Rose or even Pochettino something but dont see them leaving Dortmund or PSG respectively

He'd Probably jump at the chance.

I'm not 100% against rodgers, but would prefer Ten Hag.

Either one is a gamble. But Rodgers might have just done enough apprenticeship to be ready for this step???

Zidane and Conte will be mercenaries for a big payday which United is nowadays.
