They would prefer us to pay them to get Zidane instead of them paying to get Zidane surely.
If they’re smart, yes. PSG don’t ever need to negotiate for example Mbappe. But if they want Zidane to replace Poch then we do have a bit more leverage because we’d be doing them a favor. It does also make sense from our side though to be looking at interims and permanent managers at the same time.
Pochettino doesn't win trophies. Even bottled a league title at PSG in a farmers league. If you want trophies to return to Old Trafford he's not that guy.

I just don't understand how us going for Valverde potentially would affect anything PSG do with Poch. If Poch is that unsettled and we go for Valverde, then either PSG stick with him or if it's really that bad and he's just had enough they can part ways and Poch would be out of a job again. Just not sure how this would affect anything?
Yeah, I think the chances of them sacking Poch mid-season are near zero. They're in a good position in the CL and Ligue 1. No other club is going to take Zidane either, so they are in a pretty strong position.

The Poch is a bottler and not good enough arguments always bring me back to about a year ago when Tuchel was a meh and underwhelming manager according to the Caf yet currently they rate him similarly to Pep and Klopp.
Speaking of Klopp I remember how this place use to throw the bottler term at him because he kept on losing finals and finals. Yet here we are.

It's a short summer next year and few international breaks before the WC. We need to give the new permanent manager enough time to asses the current squad and plan additions after we know who's leaving e.g. Pogba and Lingard, bringing back Amad.

I think we are doing this right. Ten Hag and Poch both want United job. And now they both think "Will United wait for me till summer or will they hire other guy?". We are making good pressure on them

Clearly we are trying to get him now, however like Stone said it's proving trickier than they thought to get him out of PSG, hence the talk today of us approaching Valverde as interim boss.

If we go all in for Poch and PSG think we've got no other option then they demand the top whack compo (£10m or whatever).
However, if we make out we might go for Valverde or other options then PSG might think differently. All comes down to how much PSG value Poch; by all accounts not too much hence my thought process.

Bunch of people who have hardly ever seen much of Ten Hag Ajax, popped in a mega thread where he's praised, the narrative about the guy stuck with them and now they go around talking about matters pertaining to Ten Hag and Ajax as if they're that knowledgeable about them.

If PSG want Zidane that means they need to fire Poch and pay him off. If we want Poch, we need to pay them off. If we don't want to pay the 10m then we can announce that getting Poch is tricky so we're looking at an interim still (Valverde). Then if PSG want to get rid of him, we can negotiate a lower release clause. I think that's what people are getting at. tbh I don't know what is true. There's so much spin around this club these days it's hard to figure out. Normally I'd say it's just journos. But in this case it's Simon Stone, which means it's been briefed. It also makes sense though. We should be trying to find a good interim if we feel like getting our permanent pick is too difficult. Then again, saying it's tricky, could all be about money also and they don't want to pay off both Poch and our coaches that we apparently extended (if the Mail is to be believed).
