I am going to be really busy over the next few weeks so it will have to be a no unfortunately.
Thanks for asking, but I won't play a draft either atm.
If you need a body, happy to step in
I wouldn't be interested but I reckon if you want to do a really old draft you could do one just on those players without a full game. If that happens we need to call it the Dinosaur Draft and tag Golden Blunder.
you got it wrong, it would be a normal draft but criterias would be based around WW2......similar to how we had Seinfeld and Only Fools and Horses Draft.
thinking of creating a draft around WW2, no idea how it would look yet but just wanted to see if people would be interested in that? Plenty of potential avenues to go so could lead to a fresh player pool.
In before Sjor puts Hilter in his team and convinces people to vote for it.

@Šjor Bepo Fire up the WW2 thread
not sure we gonna have enough troops
Build it and they will come.
tomorrow, need to double check idea i put on paper.....also you know you are in the NAZI side after that Finney comment?
I've been thinking about good players who don't see much draft action and how we could push them into the limelight by combining a couple of concepts into a Mavericks and Liabilities Draft.
The idea here is that many of the great mavericks are regularly overlooked, usually because of the depth in quality in their more central attacking positions, and also because they had some flaws either in character or in trophy cabinet compared to the glittering CVs of the GOATs. In the same vein, there is a group of players who are almost suicidal picks because, while they had some impressive strengths, they could cost their team with their style of play and, generally, drafters give them a wide berth. So with both the Mavericks and the Liabilities the best way for them to see some draft action, is to force people to, not only use them, but build their teams around them.
- Mavericks - you are allocated a maverick and must build your attack around that player. Voting to include an assessment on how well you've built a team around your maverick. (Typical example of a Maverick could be Cantona)
- Liabilities - you are allocated a classic draft liability and must both build around their strengths and minimise their weaknesses. Voters asked to consider how well you've done that. (Typical liability could be Ramos).
Other than that, I'm not precious on the format, but I think it would make sense to be a fairly standard snake draft to allow some team-building, with the option of a small block list so the Maverick and Liability are not completely overshadowed by the quality around them. Another option could be to nominate your own maverick, within reason, if there was a player who you really wanted to build a homage towards.
Thoughts?
The only issue with the star player draft was that it was hard to keep it fresh through the rounds, so by combining the concepts it would keep it more interesting. That would be interesting Gio but we would need to be crystal clear on the voting criteria. Are you thinking of a Liabilities and Mavericks draft as a single draft or as separate ones?
As for the all-time auction draft idea, we could lift the format from this old one which seemed to work well.

Roquelme and Bochini are more underrated rather than a maverick. My suggestion is to have mavericks who are tactically interesting to build with.
Zlatan, Bergkamp, Pirlo
