As the thread title says, we've made a change to how the Newbie System works.
Newly registered members and members on 0 likes can now post in the Main Football Forums 3 times per day. Those posts must be approved by the moderators before they become visible to others on the forum.
Once a member receives their first like their posts will no longer require moderator approval.
This change is to address a long term drawback of the Newbie System where people who register cannot immediately contribute to discussions in the Main Forums. People sign up because of the discussions in those forums but are blocked from contributing in those discussions until they receive one like.
That is a definite turn off for a lot of new members and we want to give people the chance to get involved in the mains straight away so they'll hopefully stick around to become valuable members of the community.
Full members, don't worry this change won't result in a flood a spammy nonsense from new registrants. The moderator approval is in place to protect against that.
As always, please be nice to the newest of Newbies and help them find their feet with their early posts. And on the flip side, please use the report function to let the modmins know about any idiocy that does slip through.
Oh and if you've forgotten how the Newbie System currently works, read this.
