He's cleverly using the poor structure and management of the club to paint a picture of himself as hard done by during his time here when in fact, his very appointment was a by-product of that same mismanagement. A well run Manchester United doesn't ever hire Jose Mourinho - he was never, ever the right fit.

It's always the same when Shaw is injured. People seem to forget how good he actually is, and starts to undervalue him. It's weird, usually it's the other way around with injured players - people start thinking of them as better than they are and the solution to all our problems.
I like Jose, didn't work at Spurs(knew it wouldn't) but that's more on the club than him. If you're going to hire him then you need to go all in. You know he's going to want a team with an average age of 29, you know that's going to require big wages and not much in the way of resale value, you know the football isn't going to be barnstorming. When you start compromising on these then there's no point in him being there. Whether he still could actually win even with everything his way remains to be seen but I like to see different styles in football so wouldn't mind seeing him back in the PL.
Shaw's issue is not even fitness. His talent is off the charts and should be the best LB in the world. He doesn't want it badly enough though.
He has much much more talent than Robertson for instance. But Robertson is an absolute warrior and maximizes his talent every minute.
Martial has incredible talent too. But injuries destroyed him and he's always been a lazy player.
Rashford can excel at one style of play. He's not that talented. He thinks he's a superstar and his attitude has gotten worse and worse.

You'd have no sympathy for him if not for the fact United went and massively overpaid for Maguire a year later and made him captain.
So, he lacks some ability to guide a team correctly then, even if he builds the team.

Point is moot, where Roma were coming from its not a true statement to say De Rossi is showing him up.
Jose wasn't great here, but at the end of the day every manager has said more or less the same thing about the club, heck LVG even said it before ETH was appointed and we all heckled him.
The new owner SJR has also said exactly the same thing too and is at least looking at addressing it which is good

Ya but its always a balancing act. We needed some experienced heads then as much as we do now. The idea that every player should have a resale value isnt the best policy. What resale vale might kane have at bayern. What did Lewandowski get them? I do believe he was backed in the market and few would argue otherwise, but he should have been allowed to get rid of those he judged needed to go too. What good has keeping martial done this club
