I wanted him on the first team bench (in cup games) earlier in the season. We simply don't have a striker in the squad of that type.
He'll probably be loaned out next season so it'll be quite a while before we see what he looks like in the first team.

Finished 3-3. Class finishing from Macheda. Some great balls from James, Eikrem etc. The midfield just needed someone to win possession and protect the defence a bit more I thought. A bit lethargic.

I seriously doubt he will be loaned out a we don't tend to loan out youngsters that young. Although I think he will struggle to get a look in in terms of the first team as he is behind Welbeck for the fourth spot.

Looked good, lost the ball a lot and achieved nothing. The new Modric if you will.
Good game that. Thought we did well aside from having a bit of a shocker in the middle of the park. Not sure what's going on with Possebon. Every time you think he's getting back on track, he produces an absolute stinker. Age I guess.
Aside from that though, usual good performances from Martin and Eckersley, and absolutely ridiculous finishing from Macheda, who already looks like he finds reserve football far too easy. The third goal was Ruud like.
Thought that robotic Wes Brown thing did quite well when it came on as well, and Stewart's acceleration has become silly. The amount of times he beats a player just by speeding up is almost terryfying. Shame it also causes him to die of exhaustion after 60 minutes of each game.

Ok. Conceded a (ridiculously harsh) penalty but otherwise solid enough without standing out. Taken off after an hour.
Brilliant game of football! Macheda will quite deservedly get all the headlines but some of the passing displayed by James and Eikrem was sensational. The latter gave his best performance at reserve team level for the second game in a row and I'm starting to think some of the seemingly over the top things Ole has been saying about him to the Noggie media isn't just nepotism.
At 17 Nile Ranger looks like a bit of a prospect by the way. For a moment there I thought he was Welbeck in a wig.

The second and third goals are beauties. Two excellent assists for James, and great finishing from Macheda. Macheda looks like he's well built, so that'll help him cope with the next step.
