Gary Neville will bid to hone his match sharpness with United's Reserves at Newcastle on Monday evening.

The Reds' club captain returned from a groin injury to take his place on the bench at Fulham eight days ago, and will be handed some valuable playing time for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side at St James' Park.

Neville lines up alongside Joe Dudgeon, Richard Eckersley and Ritchie De Laet in defence, with Ron-Robert Zieler in goal, as the Reds look to extend a fine run which has brought eight wins in the last 10 games.

Magnus Eikrem, last week's match-winner against Middlesbrough, retains his starting berth on the right wing. Cameron Stewart lines up on the opposite flank, with Matt James and Rodrigo Possebon in the centre of midfield.

Lee Martin is likely to reprise the free role he has occupied to great effect in recent weeks, behind lone striker Kiko Macheda. A youthful bench features Conor Devlin, Reece Brown, Oliver Norwood, Danny Galbraith and Scott Wootton.

MUTV's exclusive live coverage of Monday's match begins at 18:30 BST.

Good stuff. Ole deserves alot of praise for the reserves performances of late. Tis probably too late in terms of actually winning the league but considering how many injuries they've had this year especially in defense its been a good first campaign.

Great to hear that Neville is making an app.. Hopefully he should be fit for the run in.. Can't wait to see Brown & Rafael back too.. Just shows how good a squad we have.. 3 of our RB's are injured and we still have one who can play there with comfort.. JOS really is the key.. What would we have done without him this season?

So this solves it then Possebon was never away on duty nor in Brazil or Italy.. Although PS18 already found out that only the u-15's of Brazil have met up for a match!

Didn't finish the last reserve game, so he might have picked up a knock.

He's had rotten luck with injuries, poor lad.

I actually thought he came off in the last reserves game because he would get a look in at the Fulham game, but Scholes' itchy hands put a stop to that.
He was on the bench.

Yeah, I don't think he's injured.

Interested to see Ranger tonight, Newcastle supporting coworker of mine raves about him. "New Shearer" and all that.

Yeah Terry Christian's Sunday worship, I keep meaning to watch that and see what it's like. Hoping it would be a sort of United version of Soccer AM or something.
