Neville - ‘’no style of play’’

Gary has actually said he doesn’t think we’ve planned to make a managerial change during the season. That’s an extremely bad business practice if that’s even true. I don’t know if he’s just shielding his mate though.

Disgrace

He wants United relegated. He must be a secret City or Liverpool fan, i cant explain it

Did he actually say that? Unbelievable.
He said the club won't sack him and they will hold firm until end of season. Amazed how he has inside knowledge of the board

At this stage, Carragher looks like a United fan, and Neville like a United hater.

Said the guy that sacks 5 managers per month at Salford. What a clown. Despite his career here, I'm beginning to seriously dislike this man.
He actually mentioned that he sacked the manager last year after 6 matches, and it was a mistake.

Honestly does. It's like a Liverpool fan is saying everything to keep him in the job

The cheek of Neville to be calling us to stick with the manager after that performance and the poor run of form for the last 6 months while his Salford club are famous for sacking their managers.

He’s right though they’ve just given Ole and Phelan new contracts on the verge of giving Carrick and McKenna new deals. This will be a total shock and no one will have a clue what to do.

Just like a few of the our ex-players, they only care more about their mates than the club.

Carra has owned Neville. You can see the belligerence on Nevs face, same as Ole, absolute empitomy of arrogance and conceit. Refusing to admit the truth.

Statistically we improved 4th, 3rd, 2nd. But anyone who thinks we can improve on second this year is insane.

We invested heavily and still haven't figured out a style of play. Our more reliable players are having the worst form of their career.

I predict we will finish 6th but really late in the season before 4th isn't possible and Glazers will reluctantly sack Ole with no one in mind and scramble for a new manager during the summer.

Friends FC with Fletcher above him

Yep. Again not just a case of a new manager just walking in, clicking his fingers and winning the league.
Chelsea looked just as bad under Lampard. You will be surprised how quickly a competent manager can turn this group of players around. These are pedigree international stars, not Andreas and co.

Issue is even top players look clueless under a manager completely out of his depth, especially against other quality players who are coached by a world class manager.

I am surprised so many people are now saying the players aren't good enough and then also claiming Ole has done a good rebuild job. Not pointing at you but have seen these two comments thrown around and it's funny since both are pretty much mutually exclusive.

Ferguson should have been sacked in 1989 then, genius.
Yeah compare every incompetent manager to Fergie's initial years at United. That will do the trick.
Also, Fergie had just won the league with Aberdeen against Celtic and Rangers. So he had shown his quality. What exactly had Ole done in his 10 year managerial stint?

Yep, great at United but he is one of the biggest.knobheads around.

Not forgetting beating Real Madrid in the 1983 Euro Cup Winners Cup Final.

What is he on about?
He's saying to blindly support a manager who sadly isnt good enough.
He keeps talking about Van Gaal and Mourinho but both of those had become dinosaurs when it came to the modern game.
He keeps talking about pressure mounting on Ole. How much more f**king pressure can something take before it gives up.

No point discussing this with some on here. They would not see a shit storm even if it gets shoved down their throat.

At the moment, it's just pure chaos and hoping the momentum of the fans and passion will see us roaring back from conceding the inevitable early goal.

Going back to the early days of his reign there was a massive underdog mentality instilled in terms of playing deep, on the counter with forward players who pressed the hell out of the opposition and perhaps compensated for their lack of brilliance with tremendous energy and workrate. Seems to me he's got far better players now but doesn't know how to get them to play in a coherent way.

His implementation of the high press alone spells incompetence. It looked like Ole just told them to win the ball at the halfway line and nothing else.

Looks like it, yeh. The way players half heartedly pressing it seems they never drill this in training, ever. May be Ole told them just before the match, "go on lads, press them"

Carragher says it like it is most of the time, and he's always reasonable and makes so much sense. Neville sticks to agenda no matter what, once he forms an opinion on something he won't budge.

Carragher and Souness were giving better analysis on what is happening than Neville. He was very defensive tonight. I agree with Souness that Ole looks like he needs help. If the club won't sack him, they need to bring in someone that can help the coaches. These performances are so bad and something needs to change.

Neville was embarrassing on Sky earlier. When it was suggested United needed a more experienced manager he said no Van Gaal and Mourinno proved that doesn't work, then when it was suggested maybe we need more experienced coaches he said we have Mike Phelan so the problem isn't with the coaching side either as he has bags of experience.

Souness also got a little dig in saying he was more than happy for United to keep going on the way they are.

Forget about the League. He also won the Cup Winners Cup against Real Madrid and beating Bayern on the way to the Final. What has Ole won before he came to United? League in Norway.

Maybe in the summer they could have got away with bringing in coaches, it's way beyond that now. Hopefully he is sacked in the next 24 hours for his own sake. It is just a matter of time. Never has a coach come back from being this close to the edge.

It’s not easy for Neville. Rock and a hard place. He clearly knows/feels that management needs the boot but the manager is a former team mate and a good friend.
He’d have been better going home after the match rather than defend the indefensible.

And why was he saying there was no way Ole wouldn’t bring anybody in and that it doesn’t happen. Fergie brought in random on coaches at random times for the entirety of his reign.

I agree with you, but I don't know with this club. Gary said he thinks Ole will get until the the end of the season. It wouldn't even shock me if he did. If it were my decision, he would be getting sacked tomorrow morning. If he isn't getting sacked, the club needs to bring in some new people to help out.

Because they are mates and Ole told him that? Ole is saying the coaches are brilliant. He is that deluded. But he would bring in only incompetent coaches anyway

Oh I can see that being the case. The club are cowards and will hide behind Ole for as long as possible. If we were a football club first and business second he would be gone before midnight.

SAF had to rebuild the club from top to bottom. He also had a big drink culture to deal with and had to make some hard decisions about getting rid of popular players. He was ruthless.
