One of our best rated players from yesterday's game, and rightfully so. Not the best second half, but that was also down to the team in general.
 
Can we genetically combine Matic's composure on the ball with Fred's energy?

You could attribute partial blame to Matic for both goals but ultimately the first was largely down to Axel's naivety and the second was because we ignored the old age adage of not making a sub when defending an attacking set piece.

He was excellent on the ball first half but its undeniable that both he and Mata no longer have the legs.

That's 3 goals in 2 days he's been at fault for. But hey, his passing from behind Henderson has been great! Look how calm he was.
 
Can't wrap my head about the purpose of this sub. Absolutely pointless to put him today.
 
Idiocy is playing Matic over and over again and expecting a different result
 
Clownesque performance. Rather than passing was running into Liverpool's players like a brainless chicken.
 
He’s not good enough and he’s our only backup for two players that aren’t good enough. Midfield is a big problem.
 
We actually gave him a new three year deal last summer. Comical.
 
Another shameful performance. We really need a whole new midfield we cant keep giving minutes to finished players like Matic.

Brilliant performance, best player on the pitch for me. Quality on the ball.
 
He’s a class player when he is sharp. Getting him sharp often enough will always be the issue.
 
Organised the defence and midfield. If it's his last United game he certainly is going out on a high.
 
Such a good defensive midfielder when he's on it, the only one in the squad who knows how to play the position.
 
Yeah I thought he was really good.

He's probably been better then Fred or McT recently to be fair, albeit in different sorts of games
 
Hopefully thats his last game for us, you can see the quality but his legs have gone.
 
The only DM we have in our squad, a CB and replacement of Matic should be prioritised next season.
 
Showed a lot of quality of the ball, replacing him properly will be difficult.
 
Showed what a proper DM does for the team.

That being said, think we got lucky that Adama got injured, was causing Telles and Matic a lot of problems when he was on.
 
Doesn't he have another year on his contract?

To be honest he should have started a bit more this season.

Sometimes he just has a game where it’s like damn you Matic, why can’t you do this more often. Thought he was really good today. Did get rinsed by Traore a couple of times but no shame in that. Really seemed to link up well with Donny and mata.
 
The man is a classic car. Get him in perfect nick, start him up when the weathers right and watch him purr. Hes sublime with the ball, when he’s playing g well you can see his class. So graceful in possession. I have to say I loved his performance against wolves and for 20mins against Leicester he was running the show. In his pomp amazing player.
